I hate propaganda sites that do 3 major things 1. Leave out important factors. 2. Promote based on business and not the whole truth. and 3. Ignore peoples 1st amendment rights and delete any negative comments within their website about places they promote. Livability.com is a website that does all three things. I personally don't trust their opinion. Sites like this leave out major criteria about a city if it doesn't yield the results they need. This in the scientific & psychological field is called "Research Bias". And is often used by people when they are under the influence to yield specific results regardless of the necessary criteria for a "LOGICAL" investigation, experiment, or project. This is known as "Rationalization" in which the overall structure; for example sentence structure seems to be logical however the data contain within is flawed, lacking data, or is one sided in some way. An example would be a statement such as "If you don't vote for me they are are not patriotic". The sentence structure itself is sound however the data within is lacking serious criteria to derive at a logical conclusion. This rationalization also contains what's called Cognitive Dissonance. In which both the party making the statement and that reading the statement ignore the contradictions, lack of data, and illogical nature by rationalizing the paradox. I pose that Livability.com is not a viable source of information. Keep in mind that the example statement above is only an example of illogical thinking and is not something I actually read on the livability website. For those of a scientific mind will clearly understand my point of using this grammatical structure to illustrate the flaws in thinking that are used on the livability website. I am not stating that I understand why they are doing this, be it intentional or unintentional. Just that I wouldn't trust their opinions scientifically (logically) speaking. I also find it highly suspicious that they allow comments however constantly delete any negative comments even if those comments are telling the truth, siting sources, contains no swearing, and is only trying to help people see a different side to the story. Some people may see negative comments as being mean however mean or not the truth is the truth and if I(you) are not making threats, swearing, or telling lies then we should have our 1st Amendment rights respected. If they use being "mean" as a criteria alone which is a rather subjective word then I also pose that it is also mean to run a website lacking data that could help people make a better informed decision. Whether this bias is intentional or unintentional is in fact also mean. If you are old a car for example with many flaws but the car dealer neglects to tell you, isnt that mean as well? Even if all the nice things he said about the car is true he or she is withholding vital information from you.- Thanks for reading, Healthy Skeptic
