Maybe people need to look past #744 and read #754. The politicians are again trying to stick it to the public by making us think they are going to do something good for the children, when if the public would just look a little further into what is being done, they will see the hook.#754 states "...limits how the Constitution could control the process (designating the amounts of money to be used for certain functions). Under the measure the Constitution COULD NOT REQUIRE the Legislature to fund state functions based on: 1. predetermined constitutional formulas. 2. HOW MUCH OTHER STATES SPEND ON A FUNCTION. 3. How much any entity spends on a funtion. Under the measure these limits on the Constituion's powerr to control appropriations would apply even if: 1. A later constituional amendment changed the Constitution, or 2. A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRARY WAS PASSED AT THE SAME TIME AS THIS MEASURE....thus under the measure, the measure could not be effectively amended. Nor could it be repealed."
This seems to be the hook for all the good questions being voted on. It can stop 744, or any of the rest of the questions if it is voted in.
People need to read these things and remember not to concentrate on just the ones that seem to be good, because the people in the seats of government are continuing to shaft the common people with their tricks.

You ask the question how we fund 744 . The more important question should be how do we properly fund all of state government? If you look at the overall tax burden that we pay compaired to the surrounding states, you will find that it is about the same . The problem with the OK tax system is the amount of exemptions and executions. Everyone seems to have one . It’s not just the 166 million dollars in corporate tax breaks it is all the tax breaks.
We don’t need a higher tax rate we need a smaller one, say 3.5 %, but no exemptions or exemptions for anyone . A flat tax . We could all do our taxes in one min. and the tax department could spend it’s time catching tax cheats .
I know ,you say this will never happen and your right it won’t unless the state is forced to and so we come to 744. Under 690 the legislature cannot raise taxes without a supper majority of the legislature agreeing or a vote of the people . If the state can’t raise taxes they will have to look at other things and I hope one those things is a flat tax. We can only hope.
