You can choose to be a f-up, or you can choose to lead a productive life. I chose the latter--which to most rational people, with or without God would seem to be the normal thing to do. <quoted text> only if you are taught correctly, we see all to often those children who are not taught correctly, nearly without exception all have had bad outcomes, some who are lucky enough to meet someone (minister) to guide them down the right path, can be successful.

I completely disagree. There is zero religion in my family and every one of my kids turned out well. One does not need a "God" to guide one through life. Good and evil are real things. Religion is not. chief22 wrote: <quoted text> only if you are taught correctly, we see all to often those children who are not taught correctly, nearly without exception all have had bad outcomes, some who are lucky enough to meet someone (minister) to guide them down the right path, can be successful.

Ironic that all these intolerant right-wing bastards are opposed to the free market. "They're advocating for a lot of changes in the name of tolerance," said Jim Campbell, an attorney with the conservative Alliance Defense Fund. "Yet ironically the tolerance is not returned, for people of faith who don't agree with their agenda." To tolerate intolerant people is morally reprehensible! Especially when they are self-righteous bigoted bible thumpers. ""We are unjustly called 'haters' and 'bigots' by those who have carefully framed their advocacy strategy," Truth hurts their little bigoted feelings! "Exodus International, a network of ministries which depict homosexuality as a destructive condition that can be overcome through Christian faith." 'Pray Away the Gay' is psychosocial malpractice that can lead to depression and suicide. While I can appreciate your stance and understand your convictions the clear message should be one of "Civil Right's" and the law's where we are all treated the same, without prejudice, and given the same protection. You went into a trap to defend with examples of poor unethical tretment that they've presented to you. In reality the bottom line is one of legality and "Equal treatent under the CPL of NYS and Federal government. Those laws and the only binding concern any "Nay Sayers" should be directed to. My clear point is; why give this abundant amount of thought the undeserved attention? Just simply point out what everyone has to abide by in the state of Ny under CPL & Federal law, that's all they are deserving of. Do you understand?

I object to how this story brings in Religion of any kind. The only right's you need to be concerned with are the rights given to you under NYS CPL and the Federal Bill of Right's/Constitution. Do you think you're better than another because they choose to live their lives differently? Don't you see how you discriminate? I must tell you that our law's dictate what we are allowed to do & not do. Not a Church of any kind. Thus falls in the Separation of Church & State.Spreading hate only creates violence & crime and for abusing another's Civil Liberties you can be Prosecuted.

Here I have to strongly disagree.A child is not "Born with any idea of Right & Wrong". This is a learned behavior and is the very basic foundation of a parent's responsibility, not genetic's (unless there is a psychological disorder proven scientifically that is passed on). After acertain age the child begins to formulate and understand behaviors from all types of sensory reception including the community and the people they meet. This isn't a religious issue, yet most try and push it along as one. That's discrimination. Illegal under our laws.

If that's what you need to believe. I'm just glad that people like you find religion before they start raping children. If all that keeps you from using kids for your perverse sexual pleasure is the hope that you will be rewarded for doing so, I am glad you found it.

In my years of reading the Bible it is amazing just how much Christianity is embedded in out society and our lives.

By the way we are not talking about the color of ones skin we are talking about sexual immorality.

So you are saying that just because someone believes in a fictional character, that they cannot rape and commit crime? You are truely delusional. On that note, I believe I will start worshipping Bugs Bunny. Now I cannot be held liable for any crimes that may be pinned on me. Praise Bugs!!!!

"In the court’s final analysis, the government’s only basis for supporting DOMA comes down to an apparent belief that the moral views of the majority may properly be enacted as the law of the land in regard to state-sanctioned same-sex marriage in disregard of the personal status and living conditions of a significant segment of our pluralistic society. Such a view is not consistent with the evidence or the law as embodied in the Fifth Amendment with respect to the thoughts expressed in this decision. The court has no doubt about its conclusion: the Debtors have made their case persuasively that DOMA deprives them of the equal protection of the law to which they are entitled." http://metroweekly.com/poliglot/57794777-DOMA... "Proposition 8 is unconstitutional under both the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution." http://www.afer.org/our-work/case-timeline/ "Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license. Indeed, the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California Constitution the notion that opposite-sex couples are superior to same-sex couples. Because California has no interest in discriminating against gay men and lesbians, and because Proposition 8 prevents California from fulfilling its constitutional obligation to provide marriages on an equal basis, the court concludes that Proposition 8 is unconstitutional." http://www.afer.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/0... “The evidence at trial shows that marriage in the United States traditionally has not been open to same-sex couples.” Judge Vaughn Walker "Prop 8 doesn’t violate the Fourteenth Amendment because every person in America already has equal marriage rights. We’re all playing by the same rules—we all have the same right to marry any non-related adult of the opposite sex. Those rules do not deny anyone “equal protection of the laws” because the qualifications to enter a marriage apply equally to everyone—every adult person has the same right to marry." Frank Turek

Actually, the people who rape children are usually just like you. Priests, coaches, and teachers often try to hide their predilictions in their religion. If the only thing that is keeping your from raping children is the idea that you will be rewarded for it by your god, then I guess its a good thing for bad people -- even if it is just substituting one selfish desire for another. I guess some people are just like that.
