"Caldera, 44, on Dec. 27 allegedly exposed herself and became drunk at L&J Cafe before a bar manager tried to throw her out and called police, a police affidavit said. Caldera was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and failure to identify herself after she yelled expletives at officers and refused to show police her license.

"Police at the time discovered she had four outstanding traffic warrants, three for speeding and one for an obscured license plate, and she was taken to the Police Department's Central Regional Command Center"

Upstanding citizens do not accumulate four outstanding warrants. Take away all the allegations in the first paragraph, above, and you still have to conclude that the best you can say for her is that she is a scofflaw--hardly the type you want sitting on a judge's bench.

The next drunken incident, the cops should take her to jail for public intoxication and give her a blood test to prove it. Then no shyster lawyer is going to get her off the hook so easily. If the cops and prosecuting attorneys had always done their job, there are probably a lot of politicians, including some judges, that would not be holding public office today in "crime free" El Paso. It won't be long until the cops get another shot at her. If they don't do their job, then they deserve her as a judge.

This has nothing to do with politics or breaking the law. It's about alcoholism and dysfunctional marriages. When you hang out at bars every single Sunday night something bad is bound to happen. Yvonne has become so pickled with booze that her life came crashing down. She needs to detox, drop out of politics and start finding the lord. The rest of us should take stock and be careful of what we say about others

Is she related to Rachel Quintana? "I broke the lie but they are just picking on me". This has everything to do with breaking the law. She had four tickets for speeding and obscuring her license plate. That is breaking the law. She did not pay her tickets. That is breaking the law. She exposed herself in public. That is breaking the law. She failed to identify. That is breaking the law. If you feel you are innocent, you go to court and fight the ticket. You do not ignore it until a warrant is issued. It does seem as if this woman has some serious personal problems and my heart goes out to her. But why run for office? And, it does not give her the right to try to blame others for her mistakes. She needs help and hopefully someone close to her will see she gets it. My prayers are with her.

I know Yvonne as a decent and imperfect human being. Granted she made huge public mistakes and was judged in public and in the EP Times. We live in a glass house when mistakes are made. When our mistakes are made public the glass house breaks, judgement is quickly passed. If anyone has never made any public or private mistakes that person needs to change his or her name to "God". Please leave Yvonne alone and allow her to better herself in her future.

The reason corrupt, incompetent people become elected public officials is because people "watch what they say," or say nothing at all. You are right in that she should drop out of politics, but if she doesn't, then the public needs to be aware of who she is and what kind of JP will be sitting on the bench. Alcoholics seldom have the judgement to know when to drop out of anything. The El Paso electorate are like an electronic dialing machine when they walk into the voting booth. They vote mostly Democratic, and in the primaries they vote according to whether they know the candidate at all, or know someone who does. They are loyal in that they will stick with THEIR candidate, even if he/she is in jail during the election. Their choice has nothing to do with objectivity. Therefore, forums like this can make up for what the newspapers do not say, or fear to say out of political correctness.

"This has nothing to do with politics or breaking the law."

You are dead wrong in the above statement. This has EVERYTHING to do with politics and breaking the law. Whether alcoholics get treatment or not, DWI, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct are, and always will be, violations of the law. It is up to the voters to keep law breakers out of politics--something El Paso voters historically have not been good at.

Your point is well taken but until Yvonne quits blaming everyone else but herself and take ownership of what she did, people are going to continue to Judge her and comment on her behavior, especially those who have witnessed it and continue to witness it every week. Committing Adultry against your spouse and that of another's spouse will like Able and Cain lead to public admonishment and ridicule. If this woman had carried on with my husband whether he was at a bar when she met him or not, I too would not have sat back quietly. I think guilt is playing a role in her mind and pointing fingers in other directions is how Ms. Caldera copes.

If she drops out of the race I am sure this behavior will no longer be news, but as long as she insists she is qualified, her behavior will be something she will have to answer to in every public forum and debate, because now this incident is Open Records, and no one is to blame but Ms. Caldera, the sooner she admits and asks for forgiveness starting from her ex-husband, child, and those she was involved with intimately the sooner she can move on.

I don't know about you but I as sure as hell don't want a drunk in public office. she needs to withdraw. Don't blame the media for telling the public what she is, she has done that herself

She was judged because she decided she was qualified to run for Justice of the Peace. Otherwise, this would not have been news and no one would care. She needs to withdraw and go deal with her problems in private. No one's business except if the person is running or is elected to office. Forget her private life, how can anyone expect her to be a JP when she doesn't even take care of traffic tickets and has warrants issued for her arrest?

This skank with Quintana will make El Paso shine at its best in the normal crooked politics here. People will vote her in just look at the name and that should answer how she will be elected! Remember the majority of El Paso votes a straight party ticket. Now you know the answer to the sleazy crooked skanky politics that go on here and will continue until people become educated about candidates and issues, not party lines!

I think she should run for state congress or better yet maybe court jester Rayes job. She would fit right in. Is she a lawyer? How would she know the law to be a judge? We have enough judges in this town with issues. Exposed herself?? holy cow!!!

If she is in to bad of health to be booked into jail then what makes her think being a justice of the peace would be less stressful for her hybertension? And her belief that the city is retaliating against her for har actions against the county shows mind set to making decisions and rulings if elected.

Just as it always has been !

There is no such a thing then justice. It all depends who you are and what connections someone has.
John Doe would be at the time of incident booked in jail. he would to put out money/bail in order to be released.

Everyone is equal but some are more equal !

Hey Golfer24 are you screwing Yvonne too. Cause you sure are protecting her alot. She is a skank and I was there when she showed everyone her boobs. She is rude and gross looking. Why should we leave her alone she brought this among herself. Now she needs to deal with it. And she really needs to get out of the race for Justice of the Peace that would really be a joke to El Paso. El Paso doesn't need more dumb people in politics. If she wants to better herself then she needs to start by dressing her age not a 20 year old and take her purse with her to buy her own drinks. I really do hope L&J's banners her from going there.

I agree with everything you say, especially the part about her being "pickled." I really hope that she can also find a better tailor so that her clothes don't come off so easily in public. Had she done a better job of shopping in the first place, perhaps she wouldn't be exposing herself so frequently.

If you know Yvonne, then you know she is a skank. She dresses like one, shows up at bars with her **** hanging out and hickeys all over them. She asks men to buy her beers and she flaunts her infidelities. Instead of defending her here, as her friend, get her the psychiatric help she needs. I know several men she has thrown herself at and they wouldn't touch her with a ten foot pole. She thinks everyone likes her but everyone is laughing at her behind her back. I know people that hide when they see her, what a sad pathetic life that is.
How do you know that she has hickeys all over her ****? I'm not doubting you but rather am curious as to how you know this. I read yesterday that in addition to her ****, she's also been showing off her ***. Do you know if she has hickeys down there as well? Thanks for your response in advance.

Obviously, first of all you do not know what your are talking about, not the legal system (affidavits are not charges), her situation or human error - you must be perfect - maybe you should be in the genius book of world records for idiots!

ISM, I always enjoy your posts. Please keep it up! It's so great that we have an eyewitness who can attest firsthand to her skankiness. In what way do you mean she is gross looking? Is it her bug eyes? Her body? What she exposed? Or just the whole package?
