Thank God for magistrates that put the public well being ahead of anything else. What a fine outstanding member of our community. Maybe he reduced bond because he didn't want to give the guy a citizenship award or something. Instead of housing this fine UNCONVICTED man in the jail, how about we send him over to the Judge Carters house. I'm sure he will keep an eye on him for us. You know, since he doesn't seem to pose a real threat to the community. Was Carter elected or appointed?

I'm surprised the comment about the family supporting him went unchallenged. I know the family, and I can tell you, they know he did it. They knew from the beginning.

Well I hope everyone remembers the Magistrate Judge's name--James Carter. Absolutely, never support this idiot for any office. Send him back to private practice where he usually gets appointed by he court to defend criminals that can't afford an attorney. What a bonehead and spineless move this magistrate made. Arrested 17 times on rape suspicion? What an outstanding citizen!!!
This punk is a perpetual loser!

Okay, here we go again with only in "El Paso"... That's getting old very old and tiresome, how about Phoenix, Las Vegas, Hawaii where are those convictions or court appearances for this animal, why wasn't justice served over there it appears there was plenty of arrests outside EP. What happened w/ justice outside El Paso. This corrupt court system is EVERYWHERE!!!! Despite the ridiculous bond reduction, maybe just maybe, justice will be served here in El Paso! Since "OTHER" U.S. cities could not convict him for his crimes. It's not confirmed but this maggot raped 9 prostitutes and they are all dead, sounds very odd and disturbing. If you can murder your mom, you can kill ANYONE!!!1

I saw him being interviewed when he came for Gloria Marmolejo's funeral. He lives in Phoenix.

Not to make excuses for the jerk but he is a citizen, where do you get your information from? What I cannot believe is that most of his family backs this thug. I am certain that he has committed at lest some of the crimes that he brags about. Hope they give him the needle when they convict him in his mother's murder. He definately deserves to be put down.

They aren't saying he isn't a citizen. It's a figure of speech....."citizenship award." Meaning, a do gooder or a good member of society. Sheeesh.

Maybe they are all thugs, he was a key part of drug trafficking operations or something. They seem to be making only David a victim of some strange kind but don't really care about that poor woman, his own mother that he so brutally murdered.

It probably does have to do with money. Or all their lives they've been doing nothing but covering up, making excuses that they know no other way.

The poor mother. No wonder she had to go to her own home and face a monster(s) alone, a pervert she no longer wanted in her house. Too bad some family member wouldn't have gone with her and assisted her.

My first thought when I heard of the murder of this woman was that it had to do with drug trafficking. Then I was surprised that the son himself did it because the mother didn't approve of the incestuous relationship going on in her own home but it seems that it may be about both. Back to the drug trafficking, how a family gets huge money in El Paso, money so huge that nothing else matters.

Judge Carter aka "Beetlejuice" as known by jail inmates because he carries a slight resemblance to the character has handed down some questionable bail reductions through his tenure. However I can understand where he is coming from in allowing the defendant due process especially if the DA's office can't come up with any previous conviction material and only circumstantial evidence. Carter is only following the law by not being biased and being righteous by providing the defendant reasonable access to bail. Keep in mind that $500,000.00 isn't peanuts it is still a great deal of money. Now if anything the family of this individual should be questioned about their allegiance to helping him out. Especially there being evidence that he did this! Blame the family! I know that they are trying to deal with this but perhaps some of them are in denial. If convicted I'm sure he will get his in prison. Most convicts wont put up with someone that killed a woman or committed a heinous act against a child.

These two hang out and party together at Whiskey Dicks, watch out women of El Paso! Apparently they are welcome as long as they have money to spend, you can't kiss in public and be welcome but murder, come on in.

Classic case of someone skating by enough that they believe they are immune for being held accountable for their actions. A reduced bond did nothing but add to that. But what's this about him being affiliated with the Crips? The Crips are a predominantly African American gang in Southern California.

Thanks for the information on Judge Carter. I've never heard of him before. But everything you're stating makes sense as far as reducing his bond. David seems to stay in trouble. Hard to believe the family would take his side after knowing all the trouble he's been in before. What a horrible thing for a mother to realize she's going to die by one of her own childen taking her life! My thoughts and prayers go out to the victim and family!

Why come people get all up in arms about this guy and they're convinced he did it but those same people are convinced that David Leonard Wood is innocent and was framed?

It's because this guy is of Mexican descent isn't it and David Wood's white, isn't it?

White doesn't make right and all snow is not pure.
