Thank You however you are. I am so glad you did the right thing and took your baby to a safe place. If you could not care for her. She will be placed with a family who will love her and will be able to provide for her. God Bless You and thank you for not being selfish. You are very brave.

What a self-less act. You gave this baby a chance in this world to be placed with a family that will love and care for her as though it were their own. Love life and life will love you.

Im so glad this ended in a positive manner instead of hearing about another child being killed. I'm so glad the people that brought this child into the world were smart enough to give this child the chance to live a long and healthy life. God knows you did the right thing. My prayers go out to you!

What a wonderful, selfless act. This mother obviously loved her baby enough to make sure that she has a better life. Far nobler is her decision than the thousands of teen mothers who keep their babies to be reared by grandmothers and others...this child has a chance to escape the cycle and have a chance at a better life. My prayers are with her that this mom can be given the medical care she needs and is not treated with suspicion and misguided attempts to reunite her with the child. Both mother and baby have substantially increased their odds for education as well as healthy, productive lives.

You may not know it, but you made a "mommy" decision. Sometimes these are not easy but they are made for the child's best interest. May God Bless You and Your Daughter.:-)

This mother did the right thing for her baby so why is channel 9 asking to call Crime Stoppers if anyone knows anything?
What the mother did was selfless, loving and LEGAL. Even if they are only asking people to come forward with information that might help the baby, asking that people call Crime Stoppers makes it look like the mother did something criminal. I can imagine this might discourage other mothers in desparate situations from safely giving up their babies.

Wow, I didn't even know about the Texas law on newborn babies but what a good idea to insure a better outcome for babies and their mothers facing very difficult decisions in a crisis situation. I hope this is the law in all 50 states and that all expectant moms are made aware of it that way more babies will have a better chance at a good life. God bless mom and baby.

I am not a mom and can't possibly imagine the courage it took to do this. A lot of people have children that shouldn't have them but at least this person realized that leaving the baby out in the street somewhere is not the right thing to do. May God bless and protect this baby & hopefully she'll be placed with a loving and caring family.

If News Channel 9 set out Crime Stoppers against this mom they ought to be sued and her name sealed to the public. God Bless her, and if she decides she really wants her baby but just needs help, I hope the community will open their hearts to accomplish this. She is a brave, brave mother.

The law states that they may leave the child in the hands of someone at the police, fire or emergency room not that they may place it in a box or chair like an unwanted kitten, ring the bell and run away. Somehow I do not believe the mother left the child but someone close to her. This is a sad situation but was often done during the great depression. My grandmother adopted a child left at an orphanage gate because of the climate of those times and he was a mulatto baby in a segregationist era. I just pray that the mother didn't die during or after the birth and that is why the baby was abandoned.

Coming from a former foster kid: Its unfortunate that the baby's parents couldn't care for her. It was a very mature and brave decision to give your child away. I hope someone adopts the baby and gives her the chance she deserves.

for whatever the reasons were/are this child will have a good life. I know that her mother will miss her each and every day, but she should know that the baby will be loved by someone.

I think it was a good decisions to leave the baby somewhere safe and she is healthy, But the mother should come forward I donít believe channel 9 was being hostel in anyway they never said charges would be brought to her. The mother should come forward because you never want to live this life never knowing, never giving your child the chance to know you. For what ever reasons only god knows why she left the baby, But its ok, to come forward maybe if she does her name would not be published, but when the baby grows up and wants to know about her family and her mother she will appreciate you for being brave making the decision for her to be given the opportunity for a better life, But also give the child a chance to meet her mother.

How can a mother abandoned her own child she carried for months and is from her blood. Leave a baby at a door step is messed up. I understand the baby was not harmed, but just leaving a 2-3 day old newborn at a door step, gives the person no moral character.

People like her deserve not to have children, and people that can't want children.... I quess this will never end, people that are selfish in abandoning their own, I don't care what circumstances your in, there is always a way out..
