Times headline:

"After years of being mired in a vicious drug-cartel war, Juárez is taking another step in trying to make a comeback by attracting tourists through a first-ever visitor's center in El Paso.

The tourism information center, expected to open in March inside El Paso Saddleblanket, will promote Juárez and will eventually offer transportation between El Paso and Juárez, officials said."

I wonder if the promoters of tourism are going to provide armored cars with police escorts armed with machine guns. That's the minimum that the Juarez police need to protect themselves--when they are occasionally successful at it.

The fact that the tourism information center is in El Paso, not Juarez, should send up red flags to the wary of potential tourists. Another reminder of the the town that promoted tourism while "Jaws" was prowling his territory.

Those that know Jerry Seinfeld know the actor isn’t a fan of shaking hands. Apparently, ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter wasn’t made aware of this. The two ran into each other during Super Bowl festivities earlier this week, and after posing for a photograph, Schefter extended a handshake to Seinfeld. Maybe he missed it or maybe he just pretended to miss it, but Seinfeld simply walked away, leaving Schefter hanging in the process.

Come on in the water is fine. What does J-Town have that El Paso doesn't have? Papers dirty trash blowing around everywhere broken bottles and used diapers on streets and in stores parking lots. El Paso has that also. Corrupt police city, county, and school officalls. El Paso has that also. Mexican food El Paso has more Mexican food places than Juarez most of them moved over to El Paso after the drug wars started in 2008 along with other businesses. Crazy mad drivers driving junker cars and trucks with no insurance El Paso has them also. People that espeek no English El Paso has plenty of them also. So what does Juarez have that El Paso don't have? Anything you can buy or see in J-town you can buy or steal right here in El Paso without having to wait and pay at the bridges.

I like their attitude over there. I once saw a bumper sticker that said, "Gas, grass or butt. Nobody rides for free."

I uesd to go over there 20 years ago, just for the OTB, lay bets on anything. Don't need to do that anymore, when I'm back in E/P I can just go to Sunland Park.

What about the part where they mention all the letters received from husbands fantasizing about their wives being with other men in front of them? You excluded that for some reason.
