The saddest part, the mother probably thought she was helping her lazy idiot son by allowing him to live in her home at 29 years of age and mooch off of her. Sadly she created this monster. She allowed him to lay around and do nothing but drugs and booze while she supported him. Too bad she didn't kick him out at age 18 and make him grow up.

So you've already convicted the guy before he's had a chance to stand trial and face a jury?

You must be a Nazi or a Muslim! After all, what's the difference?

Oh yeah, you're right, he had a very good reason to kill his own mother. How stupid can you be???? He already admits that he did it.

Quote me the part of the article where it says he admitted it. Maybe that tiny pea sized brain of yours convinced you that he's already confessed.

It was said that he turned himself in. I'm wondering what the motive was and why the paper bags on her feet and one hand? I bet he was listed as a beneficiary for life insurance. What a loser.

It appears that the idiots are starting to appear on this blog. Off topic so on and so forth....

Before people start to take it too far as they always do on these blogs, my sincere condolences to the family. This is truly a tragedy and the family have been and will continue to be in my prayers.

Ms. Marmolejo was an outstanding human being and didn't deserve any of this. She really was a wonderful person and I was blessed to have made her friendship. I will never forget her wisdom, her kindness, and her ability to treat you make you feel like a person of worth.

It doesn't appear that anyone here is off topic, so where's the problem?

To all of you who are playing “lazy-boy detective” and have already convicted David Marmolejo in your uneducated little minds, I just want to point out the obvious that we live in a Country where you are INNOCENT until PROVEN otherwise. It appears that a lot of your opinions are based on statements made by Ray, a supposed friend of David, but who is living with his ex-wife. Seriously? What the Hell do you think that the “new man's” opinion is going to be??? None of us are perfect, and if it were your family RIPPED APART by this tragedy, would you want a bunch of people spreading accusations, and half-truths all over the internet?? This is a horrendous and unbelievably sad event. The family, including David, deserve to be treated with respect while the ordeal plays out. By now, we should all know better than to believe everything that the media reports as fact. I think you will find that a lot of what is reported is inaccurate, and designed only to increase ratings.
Here is what you SHOULD know: Gloria loved her family above everything, she would never have turned her back on either of her sons. And the motives proclaimed about life insurance, or that Gloria had turned into this evil woman who was “putting her foot down and teaching David a lesson” are ludicrous. David is facing a host of accusers with various motives of their own, and rush to judgment by the media and half-informed public. How about we let the system do it's job, see IF he can be proven guilty and let Gloria's family have what little peace they can find in this horrible situation? Anything less is inhumane and disrespectful to the memory of a woman who would have treated YOU and your family with kindness, were the situation reverse

She should have NEVER turned her back on her younger son because he strangled her to death when she did.

Nicole: No one is being disprespectful to the victim (Mrs, Marmelejo), The same way you say someone is innocent until proven guilty "in this country", the same is true that the public has a right to free speech whether you like it or not.
If you're in David's favor you just placed him in
a more vulnerable position with your statements that his mom was putting her foot down (probably way over due). Why did he turn himself in? If he is not guilty, I would think your statements of fondness and respect for this family would be accompanied by wondering who in the hell did this.
But instead, you're concentrated on the possibility that David cannot be PROVEN guilty therefore innocent? talk about warped thinking.
The public has every right and is entitiled to be concern if theres a killer out there that has not been found. So, re=think your statements woman, you may inadvertently be hanging out your friend David to dry. By the way, aren't you glad Texas has the death penalty?!

Kodos to the El Paso Police Department who have made an arrtest in 99 percent of murders in El Paso unlike our sister city in Juarez who's police department is riddled with coruption their investigators have their hands tied behind there backs. To the El Paso Juror's, put feeling aside and look at the facts.
