I don't like these booze hounds who get liquored up and climb behind the wheel. They are a menace and when I was carried a badge, I ran them in every chance I got.

Jiame Russell AARP wrote: Officer AREU5REAL what if you caught one of your partners would you let him go? You know what they say on the force, snitches get stiches It depended on the officer. Some of them are the solid earth so even if they got gooped up on gop and punched a pregnant woman in the belly, I wouldn't say a thing. Other guys, who were always busting my balls, would get written up if they took a dump.

Everything is video recorded now by police. Officer discretion has no place in modern DWI cases. If the officer smells beer on you, you're going in. Period. BTW - you're being audio and video recorded the second the officer steps up to you're car. Just so you know.

Needless to say, a bottle of Southern Comfort was found in his backseat, almost finished. He was sloshed. Thanks for all the trouble and injuries, Mr. Sloshed-Southern Comfort-Dude. I hope DWI checkpoints are set up soon.

I'm glad you survived because when I was on the force, we had to scrape more than a few people off the road with a comb. I always told people I stopped that if they didn't sober up, we'd be sending a pile of hamburger meat home to their mama. One thing we do need to do is to raise the limit to .12 because many people can still drive pretty well with a little booze in their systems..08 is too damn low.

So you've seen the carnage that a highly inbtoxicated person can make? How long were you on the force? It's nuts. We need to separate those that have a glass of wine with dinner or a beer at the game from those that are blasted out of their minds from drinking all day or night long. But I still think the DWI Roadblocks are coming soon to a street near you very soon .

But I still think the DWI Roadblocks are coming soon to a street near you very soon . I was on the force for 8 years after leaving the Navy and yes, I have seen it all. Not only carnage on the roads but also blood on the highway, semen in the ashtray, nude photos of a hooker in the glovebox and once I came upon a young couple on Transmountain who were getting it on while parked on the side of the road in broad daylight. He was giving it to her good from behind as car after car passed by. We ran them in for pubic indecency but not before we got a good look ourselves at her nude body. But back to the topic at hand, DWI is the bane of our society and there should be zero tolerance for those who get schnockered and then drive at high speeds.

Every thing recorded on the in car video has to be reviewed by the district attorney's offices. The field sobriety tests are a good gauge but not perfect. There are those that can defeat the one leg stand and the walk and turn test. It is the nystagmus test that cannot not be beat. But you have to have so many points to say the person is going to be taken to the station for the breath or blood tests. if they have less than 8 points then the DA will not take it and will have you turn the suspect loose.
