The Padres are a horrible organization. They put a crappy team on the field. Were putting an all star team together at Azcarte to take these bums on.

Yes, Ninja is associated with martial arts, but it has other meanings that are deeper. What does right mean? No one forced the Fosters to donate money, my point is that they expect something in return in the long run. They have a lot of influence in this city. Corruption has been going on in this city since the 1800's. Don't you forget that, but there's just to many ignorant people like you that can't see that. I don't see a problem with a new stadium. I have a problem with the way they handled it. There are other spots in downtown to build a ballpark.

The Foster family have stepped on a lot of people to get where they are.Yes, they have worked hard for their money, but it doesn't change the fact that they are corrupt. It would be ridiculous if they weren't.

NO, not her. The one citizen trying to manipulate council with the big facial cheeks saying she wants a baseball stadium there but does not understand the engineering and planning of these venues. Usually, stadiums out grown their need and move out of locations where city hall is at

that one citizen crying who is ignorant with the greasy long black pubic hair wanting a stadium at City Hall. She doesn't love El Paso. City Hall is a historical site and should be preserved, there's even stories of ghosts rearranging things in the basement by employees.

You make them out like if they're saints, there's always a catch when it comes to these kind of things. He is a business man after all, don't you agree? Business men at that level are very calculated and give nothing out for free. Even though it might look like it. How can you call someone brainwashed, when you believe everything the city government tells you by means of the media. They basically hoodwink you with no problem, you just eat it up with out thinking for yourself. Your remark about the Fosters deciding not to leave El Paso is irrelevant. Why leave when you have a lot of influence in the city. For every corrupt politician they bust in EP, there's hundreds that are untouched. Your perception of reality is very limited by the looks of your comments.

What was the rush when it came to this issue? Why by pass the citizens of EP? If they had nothing to hide why didn't they wait a little to prove the naysayers wrong?

You made some good points, but there's more that meets the eye. Didn't 2 cities previously reject the team? If it was like you said one of those two Cities would of jumped on the opportunity way before it came to us. Cook will do absolutely nothing to try and stop it. Politics is structured in a way so average folks like us don't progress. Even though it might look like it is at an angle. Politicians are always looking out for what's good for them and not necessarily the populace. Lets say you work for the city government, lets just say, you make $75,000 a year. Some one thru a third party offers you 10 times what you make for a certain something. What would you do? Keep in mind that you have a family. Not all politicians would take it, but the majority would. There are unwritten rules that a politician has to follow.

I just think they could of handled in a way where everybody won. That's why so many people are upset, while the others aren't seeing what's best in the long run. Even though it looks good on paper doesn't necessarily mean it holds any grounds. It's always deeper than what it really is.

They need to have the devils advocate, that is Mayor Crook. They are all laughing their A$$$ off, with their hands under the table. Concessions, will be handled by their next doors neighbors best friend that lives down the street. The somebody that knows somebody will sell them all the crap they will sell at the stadium. That is the way all these dirty, rat chitt eating politicians will get their payback.

It' the good old buy system, how is El Paso going to progress if we the taxpayers just go along with what they want. Our beautiful downtown can not hold all those spectators. If you want a city like LA or New York fly there but don't bring it here. That's why I like El Paso. Build you damn play part where its logical and most builders do it, where there is lots of open space not where city hall is at. If you do build it warn the visitors about the rats that bite them on the a----ss while sitting on the toilet in downtown

El Paso will be the loser again if cook folds and does not veto this abortion.

Lets just look at the history of this team.
They were in Portland and they didn't want to keep them because itwas not a good thing for the city. They didn't make money so they were put u for sale.
San Diego area looked at them and they were rejected no profit and that is in the area where their parent team is at.
Then Tucson used their head, unlike El Paso, and made a deal that if after 3 years or so the team was being profitable and an asset to the City they would build them a new Stadium. Until that time they would use existing facilities. Well we all know how that went, as Tucson is dumping them now.
So here comes along El Paso. They jump at the chance to get a team no one else wants and build a stadium at our expense to house the team that no one wants.
Yep El Paso is the place to send all your crap that no one else wants.

We are talking about San Diego here! even when the San Diego Chicken use to come to El Paso to entertain at El Paso Diablo Games, it would draw crowds. But those days are now far gone and all we are stuck with is naysayer chickens.
We can compare the triple AAA baseball team with the old electric street cars, we can fix them we can make them work again.
As for the naysayers, who cares about them, they will never change they will always be negative low energy undesirables.
You're clearly talking out of your butt again. Let's see how things play out with the mayor today because if he vetoes it, this will all be a mute point.

As usual this mayor never had any intention of using a veto. He talked out his butt when he knew it would be overridden and when it wouldn't be overridden he showed his true colors, yellow to the core.

Now we must ensure that every council member that voted for this fiasco is not returned to office again.

I am disappointed in the mayor but I should have seen it coming. The four council members were bought off during the elections a year ago along with Susie Byrd and Steve Ortega. I can only wonder who would marry Ortega. Must have been desperate. But to this is the money handed out by Hunt and Foster and all their supporters. I would like to have seen the "non-quality of life" issue on the ballot as the mayor insisted it was. I will now vote down the HOT tax vote and urge all the opposition voters to the ball park to vote likewise. Since all these people wanted the park then they should have to pay for it out of their pockets. I will have my over sixty five and disabled home exemption and when it come around again in 2015 they will give my homestead an additional amount. So stick it to the middle age adn the young who wished this on the older people.

The location is wrong. Where city hall is now CAN NOT hold all the parking, and most sports venues were built out of the way or where they did not have historics sites like City Hall, Insights and the Abraham Chavez theatre built before. Anaheim and Arlington Cowboy stadium being some examples. The drainaige system downtown is outdated and there are rats said to go up the piping. Build your state of the art stadium, but downtown is NOT the location. Leave it alone, and that Gorda with the long black pubic hair on head on KVIA speaking at the council meeting pissed me off, yes El Paso wants success but be smart and practical first
It was cool how KVIA interviewed a spokesperson for Insights and he is right about a "weird" message being sent to the kids of El Paso that we are prioritizing sports over science. Most kids will get out of the poverty they are in by getting an education than being a baseball star. Not saying it can't happen but the odds of being on a professional baseball team are astrominical. There's a time and a place for everthing, and that specific location in downtown is definitely not the place. Imagine all the traffic and how the exits are built for a world-class stadium. There is a petition going around to save historic downtown. City Hall is a beautiful buiding and a landmark, and part of El Paso history and it's still relatively new.

'''meant to say the exits and streets are not meant for a world-class stadium at that specific location. Build it somewhere else. Like around the airport northeast area. You are inconveniancing and imposing on the people of EL PASO by congesting downtown
