Jaime Esparza can't try his way out of a paper bag. The vote was 11 to 1 for not guilty. The jury was furious with Jaime for granting immunity to the real killer. It's all over the courthouse. What a bone-head move that was. You really know how to work up a case for trial there, Esparza. How much of the taxpayers money did you waste on this one?

This is all very amusing. Esparza is too busy letting cops of on DWI charges to worry about trying a real case. I believe that 'She' did it and will NEVER EVER have to worry about being prosecuted for it because of Esparza's moronic plea deal.

and all of you geniuses would have done it differently? I think not; as you are all just bad armchair quarterbacks, like Tony Romo.

Ungag the jurors! I want to hear what went on behind closed doors. Why no conviction? What the hell happened? If the prosecution blew such an important case then let us hear all about it.

The jurors aren't gagged. Only the lawyers.

Look at the Michael Jackson trail in LA the DA have no evident that he have sex with than kid. The FBI sent 100 million dollars over 10 years looking for evidence all round the world that he have sex with than kid found nothing at all. All 300 DA eyes witness told the DA in LA that they didnot see him have sex with than kid. That trail cost LA tax praider 100 million dollar.

I think you better read the ballot well before you vote. It is not Esparza that is running for Senator. The candidate is Jose Rodriguez. Now make sure and get that right, so you will vote for the man, Rodriguez.

I wouldn't doubt that this is the end of Esparza. Through the years the only cases he has prosecuted himself are the ones he feels are a slam-dunk. This one he really messed up on, starting with giving the girlfriend immunity when she is just as guilty as David. For immunity, who wouldn't say what the DA wanted to hear. Even then he still couldn't prove the case. Come election time, people will start remembering all the cases he messed up on, and bring them forward.

All that needs to happen now in this soap opera is for her to admit that she committed the crime; then david will be freed and they can both live happily ever after.

Theresa Caballero just KILLED Esparza on her blog. This is amazing. I had never thought that Las Cruces DA Martinez had jurisdiction on the Marmolejo case but of course she does. Mrs. Marmolejos body was found in New Mexico. Martinez should take the Marmolejo case away from Esparza who is obviously an INCOMPETENT.

Mariah ilson has not immunity agreement in New Mexico. She can be tried too and she has already admitted to helping Marmolejo.

Check this out:An El Paso jury came back hung on Sunday, October 17, 2010, in the case of The State of Texas v. David Marmolejo. El Paso District Attorney Jaime Esparza had indicted and prosecuted Mr. Marmolejo for alleged Matricide, a heinous accusation. For months, the El Paso Times and other press outlets all but convicted Mr. Marmolejo in the public forum. The press had been so biased against his client, that defense attorney Greg Anderson asked for a change of venue. That request was denied by Presiding Judge Gonzalo Garcia. The press coverage continued. Marmolejo's case was such a sure slam dunk for the prosecution that Jaime Esparza decided to try it himself. Esparza has a reputation for never trying a case that the prosecution can lose. Esparza also has a reputation for screwing up those very same cases, as he has done in the Marmolejo case. There is a solution. Another prosecuting soverignty needs to take the Marmolejo case away from Esparza and handle the prosecution. Read on.

Esparza not only lost (a hung jury is a win for the defense and a loss for the prosecution) but he lost BIG! According to my sources, ELEVEN jurors voted NOT-GUILTY and only one voted guilty. Why? According to my sources, the jury believed David Marmolejo's girlfriend, Mariah Wilson, was at least as or more culpable than Marmolejo.--And Esparza had granted Mariah Wilson immunity in exchange for her testimony. This dishonest, weak-kneed tactic blew up in his face and blew up the case. Esparza is so underhanded that he can't escape himself and ends up detonating himself.

Esparza is incapable of trying a clean, honest case (Remember Esparza got the death penalty conviction in the David Renteria case overturned because of his dishonest tactics in that trial-we as taxpayers had to pay to try that one again). An honest prosecutor would indict both parties, Marmolejo and Willson, let them point the finger at each other, try them and let the chips fall where they may. Not Esparza. He brings in a co-conspirator, Mariah Wilson, whom he bribes with promises of immunity. She testifies that she helped clean the crime scene and dispose of the body. Esparza is warped enough to think that the jury is going to believe an avowed liar and that an avowed liar's testimony is going to help his case. The jury sent Esparza packing.

Esparza is now stuck with a case he botched. He has let Mariah Wilson off the hook and that off the hook pact he has made with her has seriously jeaopardized his case against David Marmolejo.

There is a solution. Wilson only has immunity for El Paso. The victim's body was found in New Mexico, by Santa Teresa. Dona Ana County District Attorney Susana Martinez can prosecute both Wilson and Marmolejo for the murder. The Feds have jurisdiction as well. The Marmolejo family, if they are angry enough, should go to DA Martinez and ask her to prosecute. Also, DA Martinez is in a hotly contested race for governor against Diane Denish. If Martinez refuses to do her duty, they should contact Diane Denish ASAP, before the November elections! Really Martinez should have prosecuted this case already. It is a good campaign issue.

Congratulations to Greg Anderson for an excellent job on behalf of his client!

What a direct slap in the face to Esparza it would be if another jurisduiction picked up the Marmalejo/Wilson murder case and did it right and actually got convictions. That would effectively be the end of Esparza as DA of El Paso who wasted so much of the taxpayers money in the middle of a budget crisis with his bone-headed move to grant Wood immunity. Someone else who better be worrying sabout his bar license is Ray Velarde, Wood's lawyer, who really messed up by not getting his client Federal and New Mexico immunity, too, before advising her to testify and creating a transcript that is now availabvle for these other jurisdictions to request and nail her with.
