This is indeed good news. These standardized tests are culturally biased and we need to not define a student's success based upon them. Lots of people working at Kentucky Fried are very intelligent but they bombed one test and couldn't get into college. Also, trade schools are for imbeciles and we should never encourage someone to go to one. It's either college or the military - that's it.

I agree with you on this one. I would like to see the Commissioner of Education to trash the entire testing program so that the only testing program would be the SATs and the ACTs which are used by the colleges and Universities to calculate admission to the freshman class. Knowledge that the incoming classes from the graduating seniors are subsequently required to take at least one remedial class either in Math or science is enough to wonder what the teachers in those two disciplines do in the class rooms in High school to make it too difficult to pass with a good grade. "Sorry young man, but you Math grade needs bolstering because you only got a "C" and your SAT was only 560. You will be required to take two remedial math courses." Have a good day young man.
Aside from the fact the testing on STARRs is going to cost $1 billion to administer, the tests are a strain on the schools and the teachers.
