Null and void - now that's funny. Where do you come up with this stuff?
It's is like a contract. If one or the other of the parties entered in a contract you can have it nullified if one or the other had not right to enter the contract.

Definition of null and void: Invalid, unenforceable, having no legal force or effect. It is a popular but redundant term.

So what exactly are they gonna try to spin at this meeting/ From what I see, they are going to try and call the charter election for may, not have the mayoral election for May and do something about trinis resignation letter. someone with a little more inside information should clear this up. Anyone know if the da will remove them any time soon or if they can have the charter election and get away with it this late in the game?

Anyway, getting back to your question, I would think that cities/towns around the E.P. area probably have much more corruption. It's in the newspapers every single day. There seems to be a culture of greed around here and the notion that they can "get away with it" type attitude that seems to prevail.

In my experience with Socorro, they will do and say whatever it takes to get their slimy little hands on MONEY, whether the money comes from annexing other towns to get property taxes, or instituting any and all types of fees and taxes that they can think of. This is why few businesses want to set up shop in Socorro.

I also forgot to mention judges, school district leaders, businessmen and women, city police stealing overtime.county comissioners, the list goes on and on and on if not for the Texas Rangers and FBI there would be no law and order around here. I have live in other area of the country for periods at a time and kept up on local news. But never remember reading in the papers or on the news like the stuff that goes on around here. In Mexico yes perhaps it has crossed the border and the think a mordia will make it all go away.

I don't ever be completely eliminated, but the recent public corruption trials should serve as a deterrence to all municipalities and their leaders that if you are going to get involved in corruption, there's a very strict federal Judge who waiting to see you.

Of course you think that, but the imposter is using a moniker not belonging to him. When you find out who he is please tell everyone

Can they set an election with Charter Amendments if all the actions they have taken since Trini resigned and the two council members are illegally serving? Wouldn't a state Judge have to rule on any and all things they have passed since that time???

Isn't one of these Federal Judges sister when she was a county judge in a tad bit of hot water for taking money from the wrong people?

You are correct. But there's a very strict Fed. Judge who's not in trouble that sentences lawbreakers to the maximum, and embarrasses and chastises them as they're hauled away to jail, even former Judges and higher ups get the same treatment.

Socorro should take a step back and think about what it's doing before they act. This swallowing up (annexing) for the purpose of increasing tax base is upsetting many and there could be serious consequences for Socorro and its wonderful politicians.
