Home sales are down, but property taxes keep going up, por que? Can anyone stop the Central Appraisal District from giving every property owner a five percent increase every year? Every year! And no one says anything. How can we stop this? Who can we cantact? Certainly not the Central Appraisal District. They put that phony commercial on T.V. that states, "If you disagree with your appraisal just come down to our heavy armed guarded office to voice your dispute". WE NEED TO STOP THEM NOW.

The only thing El Pasoans can do is vote out these Democrats.
Period end of story. But alot of people in El Paso believe that the Democrats are for the poor and that the Republicans are for the rich.
When actually it is just the opposite.
The Democrats keep the poor, poor by enslaving them with handouts and living off the government dole and we the working pay for it.
It's all about re-distribution of wealth, steal money from someone they claim to be wealthy and give to the people that don't want to work for a living.
Democrats = Tax(you) and Spend(your money).

They probably need the extra money to pay for all that spending they did to get them in the hole.....but they never take a pay cut, isn't that interesting?

Home sales were based on 50 years of fake price increases. There is just not a hundred thousand dollars worth of sticks and plaster in these average homes.
Is was based on inflation and with the average home selling every 5-7 years and the average sale dumping 50,000 dollars or more equity into the economy, buying cars, paying for college, gambling, vacations, etc.
With that gone. The cash flow in the economy is at a loss. It was depending on those sales and equity to be spent every 5-7 years from the average home sale.
The homes we have right now are not really "worth" half what we paid for them.
It will really take 10-20 years for this to get going again, if it ever does.
With tight credit, home buyers will have to put 25% to 40% down on their home purchase.
And who is saving that kind of money.
Almost, no one.

Most people in the future will have to rent and pay whatever the landlord wants.

You are on your own.

Here is the secret plan:
Young adults should live at home and not pay rent to their parents. They should save $10,000. per year with a modest job while living at home.
(and not spend it on new cars !)
After 5 years, they will have $50,000. to put a down payment on a home.

In 10 years they would save $100,000.!

That is because you know ALL Mexicans right? Well my sons (Yes we are of Mexican descent) lived at home until they each had saved - imagine that save enough money to open their own businesses. They are both doing well despite the economy, maybe you should have taught YOUR kids better instead of generalizing. Kinda assinine, don't you agree?

barney frank and chris dodd -- both democrats -- pushed the mortgage banks to make loans to people who could not afford a home -- fannie mae and freddie mac are their creations -- they caused the housing meltdown. you can keep blaming bush all you want but the democrats have been in control of congress -- which means the purse strings -- since 2006. you should really research yourself and not listen to msnbc for your news

Really... What law did they use to "push them"? I'm dying to know.... So, Fannie Mae and Freddice Mac were their creations; Fannie Mae was created in 1938 and Freddie Mac in 1970, but please do educate me... LOL What I do know is the Republican Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act in 1996 repealed portions of the Glass-Steagall Act, which had regulated the financial services industry and can be pinpointed as the major culprit of the financial meltdown... So again, please do educate this lowly economist...LOL
P.S. "The purse strings" are ultimately held by the President, as he can veto pretty much anything he wants. And the Dems. were in control only of the House in 2006, they won control of both the House and Senate in 2008, and if you think we can turn around all of these years of mismanagement in two years, you are delusional.

There are used cars and used motorhomes, but used homes?

Are there dealerships that sell certified pre-owned homes that have passed their 50-point inspection?

Are there used home lots on Dyer Street that sells junkers to unsuspecting soldiers?

That's why you should always buy/ own/ the smallest and cheapest home in your area.
You can still have a $200,000. home, it's just if you want to insure the value will not decline and have an easy sale, when you DO decide to sell, always buy your $200,000. home in an area where most homes are larger and priced a lot higher.
A smaller / cheaper house amongst much higher priced and larger homes will always sell fast and at top dollar.
A $100,000. home in the mist of $200,000. homes.
A $200,000. home in the middle of $300,000. homes, etc.

I know it's fun to brag that you have the biggest home on the block and the biggest home in the area, but those homes will lose value and be hard to sell when times get rough.
The smallest home in an area holds it's value TIGHT.
When home owners keep adding on and adding on and making their home larger and therefore more expensive, they lessen the selling potential if the home is "a little too big" for the neighborhood.
Adding a swimming pool to a home where most neighbors do not have swimming pools will make that home hard to sell, or the swimming pool will not add value to the home, when you do need to sell.
You want to own the cheapest property in any area for it to keep and hold it's value and a fast sale whenever you want.

Terms keep changing: There are now NEW HOMES which have not been lived in and are recently built by builders. And nowadays, the pre-owned homes are starting to be called: Used Homes or Pre-Owned Homes. It does sound weird, but terms are changing as time goes by.

Some people HAVE to buy New Homes or homes just built by a builder..........
cause......... a pre-owned home could have peanuts ground into the carpets that will not come out and those that are allergic to peanuts or peanut dust, cannot live there.

Jajajaja, you keep believeing what they keep telling you.
I'm sure you have proof of your statement right?
Didn't think so.

The Democrats created the whole financial mess, starting with Jimmy Carter in 1973 and then your boy Slick Willie boosted Carter's efforts in 1995 with the new CRA (COMMUNITIY REINVESTMENT ACT). Barney Frank (Democrat) Chris Dodd (Democrat) and a huge list of ALL Democrats created the financial mess we are in today.......but you keep on blaming Bush, like your boy Obama.....maybe one of these days you will wake up and smell the theft. The CRA forced banks into low income areas and forced to give loans to people that couldn't afford to pay them back.
Ever heard of the Subprime Mortgages?
Dude, you REALLY need to wake up.

Oh, and here's some proof for you since YOU AIN'T GOT SHEET!!!!

Watch these videos...stop them anywhere you want, and google ANYTHING you want. Maybe then you will wake up.

There's still hope but it aint' comin from Nobama.

It sure is funny how your conveniently forgot to mention that Phil Gramm was a Democrat then a Republican isn't it??????????

"William Philip "Phil" Gramm (born July 8, 1942) is a US politician, who has served as a Democratic Congressman (19781983), a Republican Congressman (19831985) and a Republican Senator from Texas (19852002). He was a senior economic adviser to John McCain's presidential campaign from the summer of 2007 until July 18, 2008."

Then he supported McCain a RINO???????
Jajajajajaja....oh yeah, Gramm was a Republican allright, IN NAME ONLY Booooooeeeeeeyyyyyy!!!!

And WHO signed it into law??????
OMG another Democrat Bill Clinton.
Shocker!!!!!

"The legislation was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on November 12, 1999."
