How do you conclude the students are spoiled? That's subjective. Just because you grew up in the ghetto you may think everyone else in comparison is spoiled. Typical Mexican.

It's funny how this act of outmost frustration is considered a "temper tantrum". Believe me, as a teacher I could say that most of us reach a point that is fairly close to the audio. When you are a teacher, you hope to teach; unfortunately, your package also includes instilling responsibility i.e. turning in homework, making sure they need to learn everything for the TAKS, etc.. etc. I don't know what he means by "getting old", but let me tell you that most kids these days have little respect for teachers. After constant indifferent reactions from some students, it becomes more than frustration and a personal challenge. More parent support would be nice and yes, there are some great kids sometimes 10 out of the 35 in the classroom those that do their work. We become like parents. How about the students just do what they are supposed to do for their own betterment instead of finding a way to catch the teacher in such a situation? Maybe some students should move out of his class to a teacher of their choice, one that students can mold to their liking. By the way, has anyone recorded how students speak to teachers?? We are held to such high expectations by society yet disrespected left and right by society itself at times-students and parents and media. Could the students have egged him on?...Do we have any rights? Who will be held responsible for students being so irresponsible? Parent phone calls, detention, tutoring, or "interventions" don't always work. What more does society expect from us?
and please...don't call it a temper tantrum. Believe it or not, we are professionals that have been pushed to the point of a nervous breakdown.

So a teacher has to be a pedophile to get fired??? Your insane (and this is obvious if you chose teaching over electrical engineering). What is it with you teachers that you weant the red carpet? There are other noble fields that don't fuss like teachers. Respect is a two way street, the teacher is a model, the incident could have been handled differently and I'm sure the teachert knew the protocal to handle such a situation. This teacher lowered himself beneathe the students because he is the adult! If you went into teavching to be idolized because you suffer from low self-esteem, you chose the wrong field.
Its like a police officer complaining that he wants to chase traffic offenders, but doesn't
want to be around drunk drivers! You take the good with the bad in any job. This isn't the Waltons, a little cabin in the woods where the teacher can take a child out into the country and molest them and the child doesn't say anything because parents came from the stupid belief that teachers are alwysa right (like priests). Children have had to change because adults have changed. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Grow the f/u/c/k up!
I hope you realize that the profanity and sarcasm in your reply is similar to the teacher who yelled at his students. Please seek counseling from a professional therapist because your word choice is limited to bursts of rage indicating that you have a scarred, unhealthy view of authority figures. Hopefully you are not a parent because your verbiage could potentially mirror the growth-hindering lessons you are teaching your children. From experience in the classroom, your disrespectful attitude and narrow-minded point of view are disabling and keep in mind that your kids speak the way you do in at least one of his or her classes. I also hope that your job doesn't depend on your writing skills because if it did, I would have fired you long ago.

First of all, teachers are not considered "professionals " particularrly since they are one of the only "serving" field that is not mandated bny law to take ethics seminars on a yearly basis, unlike doctors, lawyers, social workers, police officers, psychologists, and many maore who work with people. And this is ridiculous because teachers work with kids. If your having a nervous breakdown, guess you got to leave. Any other field working with pefople would be reprimanded or worse for cussing at people. It should be no different for teachers. Teachers are pollyana's.

The students today are not from much earlier generations that put up with a lot of crap from teachers from cussing to swatting. If it were my child this teacher cussed at like he did, you bet your arse I'd be in his face in a heartbeat. There is other avenues that teachers are supposed to follow, why didn't he just walk out and get security or send a student for the principal. Nooo,
he had to become a bully himself. Teachers are not as sane or inoocent as people want to make them out to be, hence all the sexual abuse. This teacher should be fired. He probably has a drinking problem or marital issues, who knows.
It takes skill to reduce tension in others, obviously something he doesn't have. Public school teachers only have B.A. degrees, their just one step above day care workers. I'm so sick of whiney public school teachers - you all CHOSE to be in the field, shut up or get out, but NEVER verbally or physically abuse a child., and keep your d/i/c/k/s in your pants, and your hands to yourself. If I were found cussing out a teacheras a parent, I'd be arrested. But because their children teachers think they can walk all over them? Fk that!
LOOK at yourself! You yourself are being vulgar and cussing, genius!

How hypocritical. You do realize the more you talk/write, the more you discredit yourself, right?

And by the way, the report is about a teacher cussing, not about sexual abuse. Learn to read and stay on topic.

Are you educated? Look up the definition to the word PROFESSIONAL. Here, I'll do it for you:

- engaged in a profession or engaging in as a profession or means of livelihood; "the professional man or woman possesses distinctive qualifications ...
- a person engaged in one of the learned professions
- an athlete who plays for pay
- master: an authority qualified to teach apprentices

By definition, teachers ARE professionals.

But keep going, the more you post, the more you show how uneducated you really are.

How is a teacher screaming like a maniac at a student acceptable? Is it beyound you that an indivdual can behave totally different and as expected in their jobs than they do at home or on this forum? Did you just drop from the sky? When an indivdual can no edit what comes out of their mouths they are either brain damamged, or burned-out. He's got to go. YOU are the narrow-minded one. Its easy to pick on the child isn't it? Do as I say not as I do - is that your model when YOU parent or teach? Teacherws are one of the most uneducated degreed people in the U.S. To receive a education degree takes four years at most., they have no child development training or educational background, no required psychology or behavioral studies, etc. AND NO ETHICS TRAINING. I have seen with my own two eyes many graduates from other colleges(degrees) going into teaching an not making it. quitting days after they started. they can't hack it. I graduated from an El Paso high school in 2004, not too long ago...

Simply watching these students once school has let out, it's ridiculous! They can barely cross the street (I cannot count the number of times HIGH SCHOOLERS have just walked out in front of my car in the school zone, disregarding the crosswalk and the fact that your car is MOVING; if you listen closely you can hear them mooing)!

Having graduated only a few years ago, I know first hand how the majority of students are: smart enough to do the 'fun' things (like having kids and doing drugs, etc) but not smart enough to do the ridiculously easy class work, let alone pass the standardized tests (TAAS, TAKS, etc). I knew students that acted 'slow' so they were sent to the 'Content Mastery Center' and get 'help' with work (it was a special-ed classroom where the teachers did the work if the student acted as if they could not). I knew students that graduated that COULD NOT READ more then 3rd grade level, which is not surprising considering El Paso is the most illiterate city in the country ( http://www.kvia.com/global/story.asp... )! Hmm, I wonder why El Paso ranks highest in illiteracy?? Maybe because the educators aren't doing their jobs, or in this case, CAN'T.

Teenagers in general are some of the most disgusting, foul-mouthed, disrespectful, crude, rude and lewd human beings, that is if they have BAD PARENTS. So now, parents are pawning off their little delinquents on teachers and when teachers get fed up with it they're not supposed to react?

What's the worst thing this teacher said? "You're work is pathetic!" "You can't understand that we have to work first, you haven't done anything all week!" The truth is so ugly, isn't it? GASP!! Oh, no! He cussed!! And how old are these 'children'? These students are IN HIGH SCHOOL, not elementary. Their chit-chat is more than obscene and they behave worse than you can possibly imagine.

This cunning little girl and her father need a reality check. So far, this teacher said one word that isn't allowed on regular TV, but fills almost every movie theater screen. Parents, teachers, probably 99% of the population of the earth cusses, big deal.

Why not focus on the bigger picture and figure out why teachers have to be pushed to discipline when their job is to TEACH?

Children are now being trailed as Adults for some crimes. So teachers need to be professional at all times and if the Administrators do not respond. Then get rid of your principal. Can you imagine going to school all year listening to this person. I am a doctor and it can be damaging to a person.
You're a doctor? Highly doubtful.

Did you listen to the recording? He was not abusive; he raised his voice and said "the f-word". He wasn't even berating! Is it impossible for a student's work to be pathetic? HARDLY. If anything, this teacher genuinely cares about educating his students (enough to actually get upset when they're disruptive and refuse to work).

Teachers are more victims of abuse than students! They have to sit back and take all kinds of garbage from adolescent little brats that know nothing about life and the students get away with it. Their job is to teach and they shouldn't have to take anything from your little delinquents.

The baseball game again? The student admitted to asking the teacher over and over to go the game. Some students will keep going till they get their way or think they will get their way. They won't take no for an answer and think everything should be an argument. They treat their parents that way and the parents allow it. That is why they do it in class. They were not going to allow the teacher to teach nor was math a priority to them. It was obvious they won't do homework and are very lazy. If you really care you get to the point of explosion. The student thought nothing wrong of asking several times but was upset the teacher reacted. They don't realize how disrespectful they are to the teacher by keep asking, or annoying, or how they are keeping others who want to learn. Hope he keeps his job.

You are probably one of those parents that we are all talking about. And thinking you are better than us is ridiculous. You should go to a real doctor and get checked. I do not agree with the teacher cursing at the kids, but he does not deserve to lose his job over some little kids who have selective memory, hearing, and feelings. The way this kids speak to each other is worse and I don't hear them complaining about that. Ella the more comments you make, the more of an idiot you sound like.
