The 7th annual women's conference, "Mujeres! Life is a Journey," will highlight the experiences and struggles of notable women of El Paso, providing mentorship and leadership training to young women. With motivational speakers, experiential conference sessions and exhibits by community-based organizations, this annual celebration of women's leadership brings sisters together to share the stories reaching across generations and speak to the possibilities of the future.

Some of the stories arise rise from the legal and law enforcement community, others from the world of business and education. Sessions focusing on women's health and wellness offer awareness of balance within the stressors of balancing home and work life. Counseling sessions toward economic equality and financial stability will be offered from women working within financial institutions of our community. The role of women in society and the co-relational challenges to reach beyond the status quo and their cultural restraints are highlighted. Educational visioning and attainment sessions will reveal many opportunities available to young women.

One critically beneficial aspect of the conference is the visioning and networking moments naturally occurring when women of different generations gather and speak of their experience and dreams.

Life is truly a journey drawing on the wisdom of those who walk the road. LULAC District IV's annual conference provides us all with the opportunity to hear the stories of others, to share the stories we hold in our hearts, to explore resources and to dream of a future attainable by young women embarking upon their journey. Every mother should take her daughter; every young woman should bring a girlfriend.
