The Pope needs to repent. My brother just served on a jury here in El Paso and the defendant was charged with two counts of indecency with a child. The jury gave him 40 years to serve. Catholics in El Paso need to know how serious people in this city consider pedophilia to be.

While the antiCatholic media single out paedophilia in the Church they ignore the vast majority of abuse which takes place outside the Church, so continuing it.

V. Oremus pro Pontifice nostro Benedictio
V. Let us pray for Benedict our Pope

R. Dominus conservet eum, et vivificet eum, et beatum faciat eum in terra, et non tradat eum in animam inimicorum eius.[Ps 40:3]

R. May the Lord preserve him, and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth, and deliver him not up to the will of his enemies.[Ps 40:3]

Deus, omnium fidelium pastor et rector, famulum tuum Benedicto., quem pastorem Ecclesiae tuae praeesse voluisti, propitius respice: da ei, quaesumus, verbo et exemplo, quibus praeest, proficere: ut ad vitam, una cum grege sibi credito, perveniat
sempiternam. Per Christum, Dominum
nostrum. Amen.

O God, Shepherd and Ruler of all Thy faithful people, look mercifully upon Thy servant Benedict, whom Thou hast chosen as shepherd to preside over Thy Church. Grant him, we beseech Thee, that by his word and example, he may edify those over whom he hath charge, so that together with the flock committed to him, may he attain
everlasting life. Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Pope Benedict has apparently actually been trying to move the RC hierarchy agains sexual abuse of children. Probably not fast enough, but the Church moves in sacred time, not secular.

Too bad. History's judment of the RC hierarchy will probably be that they circled the wagons when they should have denounced & cast out the predators among them. In so doing, they betrayed the founder (Who Would Jesus Rape?), & extinguished in blood & sin what was to have been "The light of the World." We're left in darkness, to find our own way. This millstone around the neck of the World will pass, & so will an unrepentent Church ...

You forgot the part where your pope has people Parrish under a non profit, reduce women to nun, and have human children eat eggs that rabbits lay in the springtime.

You know, rabbits have litters - and their eggs distributed are typically chocolate.

Oh! And don't leave out the part where Vatican Age of Consent for children is only 12 years old.. mandated as recent as the 1960's !

(maybe you should stay away from human children)

Since your Pope is sovereign in his own statehood, immune from being accountible on a witness stand in US courts, maybe he can gather all the clergy up in THIS country and take 'em back to the Vatican.

(oh, but leave the women here)

Since your Vatican lobbied a hundred years ago to give donors $2 US tax return for every $1 given to your little cryptic outfit - maybe Americans can get their money back to pay for domestic public health, disaster relief, law enforcement, maybe even the teachers union. What do you say?

Can you spell THAT in Latin -?

Jesus Christ.

According to the Vatican's lawyers, the church acted legally, ethically, properly, fairly, intelligently, with integrity, and in the best possible way in each situation in which it became aware that a priest had sexually abused a child, and I am sure that a lawyer would not: one, lie; and/or two, be a co conspirator in an illegal coverup.

Careful! They'll pretend not to "get" your nuances and play real stupid suddenly.

The Vatican and their lawyers will hear your remarkes and nod in agreement as means to deflect coherence or responsibility..

Typical tactic with these creeps. So, keep it direct, avoid sarcasm, and/or double meaning innuendo to minimize ANY possibility for confusion.

One really has to examine how the Vatican has been getting away with what they have, and for so long...

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Aries

Someone is being very informative and helpful, especially if you want them to explain something that you don't understand, so listen carefully to what they tell you. This is also a great day for making some travel plans, perhaps by arranging to visit a friend you haven't seen in a while or by discussing where you should take your next holiday.
