Idiot Judge post bail for only 50,000. I am a friend of Valerie Talamantes, what gives that Judge the right to post bail at 50,000? That is just sick. Just because Bayas is in the military? Who are you protecting Judge? I have just one word for you RESIGN NOW!!! Valerie deserves more than that, STOP PROTECTING DRUNK DRIVERS!!! JUDGE IT WAS ALL ON YOUR HANDS AND YOU FAILED!!! I may not have a degree in law but I know when something is wrong, and you sir are on the wrong side!

I assumed the judge would take pitty because he went to iraq and it is ridiculous this man should be left in jail with no chance of release. all because he was an idiot and wanted to drive drunk he took val away from all the people that loved this amazing girl. she made everyone smile. no pitty should be taken on any drunk driver. we love val and may she rest in peace

All our hearts and prayers go out to the Talamantes family and friends. I did not know her personally but my brother did...what has happened is unbelievable and created immense pain. Now is the time to focus on friends, family, and the innocent life taken far too early.

Valerie was one of my students at Burges H.S. She was a GREAT kid. I remember being on a theater arts trip to Lubbock, we celebrated Valerie's 17th birthday while there. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Talamantes family.
May she rest in peace.
I know God will take good care of her.

He will pay twice because once the civilian authorities are done with him the military will have their turn. Maybe El Paso should stop fighting Asarco and start fighting the build up of troops at Ft. Bliss. 11,500+ chances of this happening again.

This is every parent's nightmare! Valerie was a young shining star with a promising future ahead of her. There is so much that she had to share with everyone. Gracie and Robert are great people who have lost their precious baby. Valerie's talents from singing and acting to academics were amazing. She graduated in the top of her class and had dreams of becoming a doctor. She had the will, determination and the grades to reach that goal. She will be greatly missed by her Burges theater family. My daughter has lost a very special friend and I feel that I also lost a daughter. Everyone needs to know about this special young woman and the inexcusable, horrendous crime that extinguished her life so young. Please get involved with MADD and support the blood sample testing for suspected DUI arrests that refuse to take the breath test. I know it is a controversial program that has raised invasion-of-privacy issues here in El Paso and other Texas cities, but we need to make our streets safer for our children and those who choose to drink and drive need to be held accountable for their actions. There is nothing more unconstitutional than losing a child to a drunk driver!! Please join Valerie's Burges family tonight to celebrate her life.

Val was an awesome person! She was smart, beautiful, funny, and an overall amazing person. Valeria was always the type of person to drop whatever she was doing to help those who needed her. When I needed someone to talk to she was willig to answer my phone call at 4 in the morning. Val got me through some hard times but most of all shared the GREATEST of times with some of my friends and I. Val will not only be missed she will be remembered and hopefully her life will show others not to make mistakes and to drive under the influence. Some of us gathered last night and the intersection to try to light some candles and poked fun at how Valerie was probably looking down on us making fun of us, because the wind kept blowing out the candles. We all promised to remember Val and be the best people we could possibly be for her; because that is what she would have wanted. We are closer together now and we will continue to grow closer together as Val did for us. She brought us together as a family. She taught us to "keep it precious" and live in "this moment". You will always be in our "beating heart baby". I love you Val I know you're smiling down on us right now.

My prayers go out to the family and friends of Valery. I saw the accident when it happens and it was horrible. I have been very nervous since then. To her parents, I hope god brings you resignation and peace soon.

Thank you for making that clear to those who do not understand that Ft Bliss is here to stay. All he have to do is hit I10 and dont stop for gas.
Ft Bliss is the Bread and Butter of this Community and thats just it. If you can agree or like it them move to another town/city or colonias on Juares, if they think Ft Bliss is such a problem.
