To the undisputed reasons for Obamacare’s rocky rollout — a balky website, muddied White House messaging and sudden sticker shock for individuals forced to buy more expensive health insurance — add a less acknowledged cause: calculated sabotage by Republicans at every step.

That may sound like a left-wing conspiracy theory — and the Obama administration itself is so busy defending the indefensible early failings of its signature program that it has barely tried to make this case. But there is a strong factual basis for such a charge.

From the moment the bill was introduced, Republican leaders in both houses of Congress announced their intention to kill it. Republican troops pressed this cause all the way to the Supreme Court — which upheld the law, but weakened a key part of it by giving states the option to reject an expansion of Medicaid. The GOP faithful then kept up their crusade past the president’s reelection, in a pattern of “massive resistance” not seen since the Southern states’ defiance of the Supreme Court’s Brown v. Board of Education decision in 1954.

The opposition was strategic from the start: Derail President Barack Obama’s biggest ambition, and derail Obama himself. Party leaders enforced discipline, withholding any support for the new law — which passed with only Democratic votes, thus undermining its acceptance. Partisan divisions also meant that Democrats could not pass legislation smoothing out some rough language in the draft bill that passed the Senate. That left the administration forced to fill far more gaps through regulation than it otherwise would have had to do, because attempts — usually routine — to re-open the bill for small changes could have led to wholesale debate in the Senate all over again.

But the bitter fight over passage was only the beginning of the war to stop Obamacare. Most Republican governors declined to create their own state insurance exchanges — an option inserted in the bill in the Senate to appeal to the classic conservative preference for local control — forcing the federal government to take at least partial responsibility for creating marketplaces serving 36 states — far more than ever intended.

Then congressional Republicans refused repeatedly to appropriate dedicated funds to do all that extra work, leaving the Health and Human Services Department and other agencies to cobble together HealthCare.gov by redirecting funds from existing programs. On top of that, nearly half of the states declined to expand their Medicaid programs using federal funds, as the law envisioned.

Why did it take you so long to get Ouisa'a reply, JWRussell USNR?

It is a nice summary of all the problems created by Obamacare, but of course it ends by blaming Republicans.

The summary is exactly what Ted Cruz, the so-called "Tea Party" and all concerned citizens warned about. How can you blame someone that tried to warn the nation and put Obamacare on hold and even defund it to stop the damage?

Nice try, but blaming the Republicans just won't fly. Even the low IQ Democrat parasite masses know that the GOP tried to warn the nation, but now the Democrats are trying to spin it to make it look like they are the victims rather than the perpetrators of the greatest boondoggle that has ever been foisted upon this nation. It is the law of the land just like the Demoliton-crats drew it up, and there is no way they can blame Republicans for the coming destruction of our economy.

All you do is post lies, innuendo, gossip and discredited theories. I feel sort of like part of what happened when the president said if you like your plan you can keep it, is there was an assumption in the administration that people wouldn't like that plan, like the plan that still forces them to pay thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket costs, that was so sort of bare-bones and people in fact wouldn't like it and would be wanting new plans. And now suddenly, at least you see on this concern-trolling that people did like those plans and wanted to keep them.

What a tangled web we weave when we tend to deceive.

Well Maobama is right smack in the middle of the web of lies and the likes of his ilk have been spreading for 5 years.

Now that reality is smacking millions of Americans right smack in the kisser the head liar in charge with his propaganda wing are trying desperately to redirect the narrative to the insurance companies when it is this lying bunch of progressives who set the stage for all of this.

After all it is Maoabama the Great Deceiver, the Great Divider and
in the end the undoing of this nation. Thank God we only have three more years of this tyranny to deal with.

Get rid of Princess Harry, Nazi Pelousi and all the others just like them.

By the way - the Dumb as craps are all in on this one as they all voted for it - remember that in the midterms and at the next election.

You're crying in your beer today but you'll be laughing out the other side of your butt tomorrow. You and your racist friends just can't stand to see a black man in office, can you? You've been railing against him for years as you have lost battle after legislative battle. Now you can't stand to see every American have affordable coverage so you lie and smear and deceive. Good luck trying to retake the White House in 2016 with Cruz and Rubio. You'll still be crying in your beer then and you'll still be talking out of your butt.

There you go playing the race card again. All conservatives would welcome a black President if he were Dr. Ben Carson, Allen West, Clarence Thomas or several others who are successes without milking Affirmative Action, EEO, racial quotas, etc.(like Obama). We conservatives would elect many more Hispanics if they were like Ted Cruz and actually keep their campaign promises and don't become corrupt after they get in office. He could not have won without conservative support throughout Texas. It has nothing to do with race, but political orientation and ideology.

The truth is that Obama is a lying demagogue of the first degree and is not capable of being honest. He knows that his third world plan for America doesn't have a chance if he utters the truth. There are a lot of old phony conservatives in the GOP, like McCain and Lindsey Graham who have similar plans for America. We'll take care of that business at the polls, or at least marginalize them as the small minority, if the duped Arizona and NC voters continue their insanity. The elite bring the factories back here to the U.S. when they enslave the population the way that China has. The quickest way to do it is to continue to flood this country with illiterate illegal aliens. When we become a third world country, we can compete economically with China and the Far East; and then the super rich will bring back the factories. But the elite will not be living here among the squalor. The elite will be in Switzerland along with the owners of all that foreign capital, staying close to their bank accounts.

I once asked a liberal, left-wing professor what causes prejudice.(Yes, I set him up.) He said the "lack of education." There you go, JWRRussell USRN. He's talking about you. You are one of the most prejudiced person on this forum, along with the rest of the uneducated, moronic trolls that call themselves Democrats. You may have certificates and diplomas out the Wahzoo, but they no longer have anything to do with education--just like our public schools--liberal arts and many of our colleges no longer have anything to do with education.

You need read and respond to my posts, you just hurl insults and demagogue the issue. That's one of the sure signs of being racialist, which you clearly are.

Congressional Republicans have stoked consumer fears and confusion with charges that the health care reform law is causing insurers to cancel existing policies and will force many people to pay substantially higher premiums next year for coverage they don’t want. That, they say, violates President Obama’s pledge that if you like the insurance you have, you can keep it.

Mr. Obama may have misspoken when he said that. By law, insurers cannot continue to sell policies that don’t provide the minimum benefits and consumer protections required as of next year. So they’ve sent cancellation notices to hundreds of thousands of people who hold these substandard policies.(At issue here are not the 149 million people covered by employer plans, but the 10 million to 12 million people who buy policies directly on the individual market.)

But insurers are not allowed to abandon enrollees. They must offer consumers options that do comply with the law, and they are scrambling to retain as many of their customers as possible with new policies that are almost certain to be more comprehensive than their old ones.

You need to stop Ouisa from using your name while making posts here. It is unethical. You cannot fool anyone. We know your style and level of literacy. But, as stated above, level of schooling or diplomas and certificates have nothing to do with education. To have any influence, there must be substance and an inherent credibility to what you say or write. Memorized, canned, political litanies do not influence anyone who possesses basic intelligence. It creates the illusion of replying to truthful posts in forums like this, for the authors have been told by their puppeteers in Washington that a reply is necessary, even if it is a lame one (and yours always is lame).

That brings us back to the litany of lies uttered by the Obama Administration and fed into his Teleprompter by the eggheads that actually pull his strings. You are not fooling anyone with your cuts and pastes or allowing an ideologue to make posts in your name. It might satisfy the psychological needs of a few liberal, left-wing college professors or pseudo-educated, left-wing radicals who need a steady litany of reinforcement with something worthless to repeat every time someone debunks their political agenda, false ideology and Marxist program.

For the truth, re-read my post #10, above, and you have my permission to copy and paste it anywhere you wish without fear of being charged with plagiarism. The truth needs to get out. If you do, it will probably be the only thing you ever copied and pasted with proper permission. Since you do not know how to legally cite references with proper accreditation (without permission), it will, for a change make your copied material legal.

Our factories need to be brought back, but with standards that do not ruin our air and environment the way it has in China. The elitist agenda, that includes McCain, Obama, Graham and other stockholders in the big corporations, will help get the factories back here when they make us a third world country by importing millions of illiterate aliens with amnesties--aliens that have no chance to learn English or assimilate due to a bilingual education bureaucracy that teaches them everything in their naïve tongues and actually discourages assimilation.

Uncontrolled immigration and division is the perfect formula for creating chaos and anarchy, a stage that always immediately precedes Marxism and totalitarian socialism. But remember: the elitists that McCain, Obama and Graham want to be part of, do not now, nor will they ever, live in the countries where their factories are located. When the U.S. becomes a third-world country, they will be enjoying the clean, mountain air of Switzerland, close to their bank accounts.

No amount of writing can change anything because the racist rhetoric that drips from your pen sullies any salient points you try to make. One day, hopefully, you will recognize the error of your ways and wake up to the realities that have been eluding you. Until then, we can only pray for your soul and hope that somehow the racist overtones that dominate your every thought will not harm anyone. As for me, I let your feeble insults roll off my back like crap through a goose.

Of course you are going to stick to playing the race card because that's all you have. You know you have nothing going for you like Allen West, Ben Carson or Clarence Thomas and that worries the hell out of you. And it should because you have no merit other than your ability to play the race card. Your days of privileged treatment by society are numbered and you know it and you are going to keep screaming racism because in the past it used to scare hell out of politicians. Those gutless politicians' days are numbered just like yours as a privileged character.

Screams of racism is your security blanket and you will hang onto it as long as you can. But it will be good to protect you only as long as the white middle class continues to slumber. When they wake up, we will have the equivalent of your racist organization, the NAACP, to look out for the rights of white people and to stop this oppressive reverse discrimination. We will have the equivalent of LULAC, RAZA Unida, La MecHa, etc. When the white race unites to protect its interest it is, by your convoluted standards, "racism," which your race freely practices.

I hear you. As a fellow African I went through the same thing. But I looked to role models from our community to help me cope. I began to mimic Wilt Chamberlain in every way, dominating on the basketball court and then sleeping with white women afterward. I tapped so many white butts that my dong turned blue. That really made them jealous of me and I had the last laugh, in addition to busting a lot of nuts.

The author of this thread is a well known liar and rabble rouser. All he does is make up statements to try and instigate people. He's been thoroughly discredited though so don't worry about his rants.
