I found the below item on the web today and think that there could be some good if certain thieves on Topix be treated with the same zealous attitude by the monitors who fail miserably in curtailing the activities of a few who prefer to be nasty and use others monikers to make their comments.

"Iran Finger Cutting Machine Reportedly Debuted (GRAPHIC IMAGES)

Iran, Islam, Video, Amputation Machine, Amputation Machine Iran, Iran Capital Punishments, Iran Machine Amputates Pictures.

A series of graphic photos reportedly depicting the public amputation of a convicted man's fingers in Iran have been released to the public.

The pictures show the amputation of a sweatsuit-clad prisoner's finger. The man was convicted of theft and adultery in the southwest city of Shiraz, according to state news agency ISNA.

In the images, the blindfolded man is led to the machine by a trio of masked and hooded officials. As two officials hold his arms, the third inserts his hand into the machine.
According to France24, the man had been sentenced to three years in prison and 99 lashes.

Mahmoud Amiry-Moghaddam, a representative for Iran Human Rights, told France24 that the photos -- whose authenticity could not be independently confirmed -- may be a governmental scare tactic in advance of the upcoming presidential elections.

"We have noticed that the authorities have recently being making more and more publicity surrounding cases of corporal punishment," Amiry-Moghaddam told the news outlet. "Every time we get closer to an election, the number of these incidents increases. And we’re getting quite close to the presidential election [slated for June]. I believe this is a strategy to instil fear in the population so as to avoid any protests."

The city's district's public prosecutor, Ali Alghasi, warned that criminals under his jurisdiction should expect increasingly strict punishments, according to The Telegraph.

In 2008, the Iranian ambassador to Spain defended his country's use of amputation as punishment, saying amputations were akin to stopping the spread of gangrene in Persian society, The Telegraph reports.

"Our laws allow for the amputation of the hand that steals. This is not accepted by the West, but the field of human rights should take into account the customs, traditions, religion and economic development," Seyed Davoud Salehi said at the time.

Meanwhile, human rights groups have warned of an escalation in the number of public punishments in Iran."

The only problem with this idea is that only the hands are cut off and not other offending parts. For instance, we would put a stop to the ongoing gas problem in this country if we cut off a man's butt cheeks when he unleashes a mind-bending, nose-offending stream of gas into the air, otherwise known as a fart. We could also put an end to the tired and offensive spectacle of breast feeding in public this way. Let's be consistent in how we app;y the law.

Yikes if they were to apply that Shria law around the ElPaso Texas area 90% of the people would be missing alot of fingers, arms and legs that also includes elected political figures school district leaders judges and all the rest of the riff raff that lingers in this area. Do you happen to know what they do with illegals in their country? Like praise and reward for being a unregisted immigrant or do they send them back home?

If the past news items are any indication, they brand them as spies of the imperialist west and put them in jail and await the country to send money (Ransom) to bond them out. Otherwise if they are news people and are from the middle east, they execute them.

What about Hillary? Did you forget that she testified? Or are you still denying any connection between your forgetfulness and her having the ambassador killed?

She testified like a she lion going after an ineffectual dumbazz congressman. Had him tied to the ropes. Rand Paul is a total duchebag. She covered the entire incident and by the looks of the republican senator and the junior house representative she won hands down. Maybe you should be name Juan Gomez La Voca de la basura.

Exactly what I'd expect you to say. She's complicit in four deaths and yet all that matters is "she won." How pathetic both she and you are.

She was not complicit in the deaths anymore than the stupid republicans who failed to properly fund the state departments budget for security. Senator McCain visits the ambassador in June and is told he needs additional security. Senator McCain failed to pass this on directly to Hilary. Her mail is routinely opened by staffers and they make the decisions as to whom the mail goes to after they review the letters or E-Mails. IF She does not get the letter or E-Mail it is the fault of her subordinates and not her. You sir are an idiot and the PHD Reads the same as: Piled higher and Deeper. That is why your name should be Juan Gomez La Voca de la Basura PhD. May your pile not grow smaller.

I am neither a republican or a democrat. Teresa Caballero is no friend or passing acquaintance. She deserves to have her license suspended for not less than one year and no more than 2 years.
