Walmart as a company was ok when I first got hired. In fact I looked forward to going to work every night. But from the inside I found out that their company policies were worthless. Each store manager can do almost what ever they want to and if you do go higher up with a problem you have put yourself on the short list to be gotten rid of. I witnessed alot of good smart people who were sent packing because they had a mind of their own. If you get a store and decide to seek employment with them, you better be of the mindset to be keep your mouth shut and follow the orders no matter how much they make no sense. Another thing is they will try to get you to become one of them and become a manager, if you turn them down you better start looking for another job. They are not interested in anyone who just wants to do their job and go home. If you can lie and back stab you have found a home. For me I was expecting Kevin McCarthy to come running out of the back room with a pod.

The article is not about a Walmart in Williams Georgia, it is about a fellow named Williams who wants to build yet another Walmart in Surprise, Arizona, near Sun City.

I live in Sun City and there are six Walmarts in six different directions from here all about the same distance. Like towns everywhere is bleeding small business dry in the town. They hire people for low pay and no benefits while moving all the manufacturing to China where the business is operated by Unionized Communist Party workers while Americans grow poor. I believe Hillary Clinton is on the Board of Directors these days.

Great! Another Walmart in Sun City. That mean the made in Communist Chinese product is taking over the last line of defense of the Republicans.
Pleanty of Conservative cheap Retirees love Walmart cheap product made in China. Just remember why millions of Americans ahs no job.
Send jobs to cheap labor overseas & turn around sell it back to Americans using Walmart Super Store. What a f**cking insulting. A Republicans can actually can easily sold their country man for a burgain price peace of made in China.

You realize that Hillary Clinton is on the board of directors, don't you?

You realize that in China Walmart people have a union that they don't have here. You realize that everything in the store is made in China by members of and supporters of the Communist Party, don't you? You do know that countless thousands of Americans have been thrown out of work by Walmart changing their old buy-American policy, don't you? You do know that Walmart has driven numerous American companies into bankruptcy, don't you? You do know that Walmart effectively transfers wealth from the USA to China, don't you? Every time you shop at Walmart you strengthen the Chinese Communist party.

You just believe. Mean, you do not know.
So, why lie or make up story.
Republicans live up to the truth & we never guess nor assumed. Where is you sense of honor?

Well, is she or isn't she? I don't recall who said so, but I have no information. Perhaps you can tell us.

As for the Chinese Walmart union I was speaking with a man, a union supporter, who had recently returned after a tour of the country. He said he was surprised to find that the union was there and he, if I recall correctly, said that the Walmart union was not a very good union in that it had rather limited power to improve the lot of the members, but was certainly better than the Walmart union in the USA, which is none at all.

In reference to some of the other remarks here I think that a reader not familiar with the area should understand that there is no Walmart in Sun City. The ones I referenced are in Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, and elsewhere. The one in question in the original post is proposed for Surprise, as I pointed out to the South Carolinians to begin with.

I now work for one of your so called local american markets and the guy is a big scab employer. He likes to take nail polish remover and change dates in the meat dept. He sprays Raid on the produce early in the morning before the store opens. No money. No benefits. No raises. Big on the lies when you get hired. I just took off for a funeral for 4 days (2,800 mile each way trip)after working for 2yrs without a day off and came back to have my hrs cut. I was giving him 8hrs work for 5 hrs pay and now he wants it done in 4hrs. If I can ever get back into walmart I will never quit again. I`m going to do just like everyone else from now on. Take care of me and my family and screw the rest. Tell me all about your "Buy American" bull. That`s all it is anymore. You have been and are being sold out everyday.

You are a fool to work for eight hours and take only four hours pay.
More to the point your story makes no sense. Even at Walmart the meat and produce are Mostly American grown or imported from Mexico and a limited number of other countries. American made is not an issue in the grocery business. This is all made up.

Sorry pal there is none of it made up. There are not (really none) alot of jobs in this area and unfortunately I am stuck in a small town working in a small market and everything I posted is true. There are plenty of people in this economy who are being taken advantage of. The guy I work for has in the past bought 2 yr old meats and changed the dates. He has also sprayed Raid on the Mexican produce to kill all the little bugs on it. I do agree with you that it makes no sense but the part I left out is that my wife is a cancer survior and we need this job to try and keep our health insurance. He knows it and thinks it`s funny. What I was trying to say is I never should have left Walmart. I never thought I would say this but, I would consider myself lucky to get rehired by them.

Well, I am currently in Illinois trying to get a sister with MS a bit better organized so she can keep a job and pay her health insurance. I am firmly convinced that she needs to look into giving up the work and going on Medicaid and disability. She is on the verge of agreeing.

If you have not done so you need to look into that as well. Until we get a civilized health care system in this country Medicaid is about the best you can do. It has reconstructed my daughter's spine, saved my life a time or two, and makes sense for sister dear.

That is correct. The proposed new one is in Surprise, somewhere.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Virgo

Someone is being headstrong and wilful, and absolutely determined to do what they want. Mercury is retrograde and it's a Full Moon in Cancer with a lunar eclipse all happening tonight! This could lead to some heated discussions and possibly even rows, as you argue the toss back and forth. It might be best to accept that there's very little possibility of reaching an agreement rather than to get locked in a stubborn battle of wills. Besides, you don't want anything to spoil what promises to be a very enjoyable New Year's Eve. Have fun!
