Being a nurse I think it's ridiculous for pt's to wait hrs to be triaged.... If only they could learn how to prioritize pt's I feel the ER would run alot better but they don't instead they are in the back sitting at the nurse's station chatting away... I myself worked in San Antonio for many years and I have never seen pt care as poorly as it is here in Eagle Pass. Don't get me wrong pt's are going to wait in any ER but that is why you prioritize. Unfortuntley the citizens from Eagle Pass have no other choice but to wait and wait and wait to be seen in the ER.... I blame administration for this they should be ashamed of themselves.... I would NEVER EVER work at this hospital!!!!!

I agree with you, the ER from Eagle Pass sucks! They don't do their job like they are suppost to. They do spent their time eating like pigs and thats why alot of them are fat. When we really have an emergency they dont care they just do what they want with the patients. But they really know how to charge us. I dont know if there is a number where us people from eagle pass can call to see if can put a complaint against these stupid people. Thank You |

TX Nurse is not wrong. In fact we need more nurses with experience from the big city. I once took my husband with a huge gash on his leg bleeding all over the place. He was gushing out blood. There were only 2 other people in the ER and it took them 2 hours just to see him in triage. I feel bad for the maintenance people who had to clean up the blood. If nurses had to clean up that mess I bet they would not have taken so long to see him. The ER here has and more than likely always will be the same terrible service. Honestly, you have to know someone that works in the ER to get seen right away. That is the way they prioritize. |

Plz Doc Johnson don't get so defensive truth hurts.... We the citizens from Eagle Pass were asked a question and we have replied... Let's be honest here.. Some Dr's come to Eagle Pass from other cities but don't last... We recruit nurses from other foriegn countries but Eagle Pass is only a stepping stone for them then they move to bigger cities so really these nureses and doctor's don't care about the citizens from Eagle Pass.... Then of course we have some nurses that thought nursing was going to be big bucks well it is but the KEY POINT here is that you have to enjoy being a nurse and you have to care about the patient. care So please let's be honest here and admit that the ER SUCKS.... Let's not argue about it... Instead try to come up with a plan to better service people when they go to the ER. And while your trying to improve the ER please improve registration for outpatient services.... And you know what Doc Johnson I wouldn't work for FDRMC even with those bonuses because I feel my training and pt care are above and beyond what the ER offers to the citizens of Eagle Pass... |

Their service sucks real bad, but yeah they're good at charging you. Is there any number where we can call to complain? This is bullshit and I'm fed up with this.

Its funny to me how everyone wants to blame underpaid, understaffed, ER workers for long waits. If u don't want long waits quit bringing snotty nose kids with fever to the ER. These are clinic pts. Get a job and health insurance and take your KID TO A PCP and please learn were the tylenol counter is at wal mart. Oh and by the way when your laughing in triage your pain is not a ten. I do agree the hospital has its problems, but the ER can only treat so much with nurses that have to travel in for a short time and try to learn the ropes and then your contract is over. So as I see it just as much the citizens fault for not realizing what a true EMERGENCY ROOM is, not a CLINIC, its not a DRUG STORE, and it is for damn sure not BK you don't get it your way. It takes time for lab results to be obtained, xrays to be read, but you all wouldn't understand that anyway.

I Agree with this nurse, good for you. I personally think you are way better off working in any hopital but here. The service here is pathetic. I know this from personal experience. My daughter almost had a ruptured appendix there in the so called ER. The only reason and I mean the only reason I took her here was because I have Insurance (doesn't make a diff) and I was afraid she wouldn't make it all the way to San Antonio. But guess what it took over 12 hours before she was actually taken into surgery. I could've very well taken her to San Antonio, and she would of been operated immediately because she was an emergency, unfortunately they don't know what that means here. I feel for some not all but some of the nurses that work there, because they do get alot of the complains from patients family members. I know that most do what they can with what little they have. The doctor that was on call that night aside from looking very unprofessional in his appearence he had no people skills. I had to approach him after many hours of waiting for some feedback, to see what the status was with my daughter, all he could say was the surgeon should be getting here. That was the only time he spoke to me, but guess what his bill was the first to arrive. That is the only thing that gets done really quick. It's ashame we have such a nice looking hospital but pathetic service. Not enough doctors and nurses. But the way things run here in Eagle Pass it's no surprise, because the politics are really bad. Not every doctor is allowed to see his/her patients at the hopital because they have no hospital rights. What a shame. Maybe we don't know all the facts, doctor, but we know enough. |

My sister and her husband are RNs in San Antonio, we've tried to to get them to come here because all our family is here. They don't because of the terrible reputation the hospital system has here. It's sad because natives from EP leave to get educated and unfortunately never come back. Instead of making things appealing for our people to come back and offer their professional services, it's still the same people that control things, in other words, what's in it for them.:( |

1 People of Eagle Pass I have made my point..... This is why you have to wait hrs to be triaged because you have staff like this ignorant person assuming that your kids are not that sick or assuming that your pain is not severe... One thing I learned in nursing school is NEVER to assume... Now we know why we have to wait hours and hours.Just to clarify it is the PCP's who at times tell the parents of these kids to go to the ER or sometimes kids get sick in the middle of the night and these parent's don't know what else to do that is why they go to the ER... "Snotty" kids maybe to you they may be snotty but to their parent's they are ill... So I am going to assume that you are not a nurse please GOD don't let this person be a nurse because this is the kind of pt care she is giving us people of Eagle Pass... |

Lets be fair, not all of them. There are a few people that do their jobs the best they can because they actually remember why they are there, for the people. Let's give those hard working people a break and recognize they are a few in a million, Congratulations to you that really like your job. |

what's funny is how defensive you are about the ER staff you obviously work there! Your rude way of expressing yourself and your unprofessional attitude only prove you do work there and what kind of people they have in their staff. Snotty nose kids, get a job? you should be ashamed, people like you are what makes the hospital have such a bad reputation. the ER sucks and that's the truth. there are some exceptions of course but overall the nurses are rude and think they know all that sitting in the nurses station all shift long wont get their fat asses up to attend a patient |

Its true er is terrible. i had an accident slipped and hit my head on floor cement, was bleeding from my nose and mouth. also had a massive headache and in pain. i had to wait in waiting room for two hrs to be seen by the nurse. what if i were to be bleeding internally,in the head, what would of happened to me in the waiting room? so its true never assume. but, as soon you get there make sure you register,(they will register you fast) and the clock starts charging you, so lets just say by the time the nurse sees you,your bill is already on the way to your house for just being in the waiting area, waiting to be seen. and yea, wait till you get the rest of the bill!!!!!! Oh, and its true they are sitting, eating, and laughing behind the nurses station. how come they dont post a phone number for complaints?????

People need to learn that the emergency room is not a clinic. In their defence if you are not dying or are gonna dye there is no reason you should be there.
