Police sources tell 7 Action News that a women’s basketball coach from Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School shot two men who attacked him as he was walking two basketball players to their cars in the school parking lot.

The coach then pulled out his gun and shot both of them, according to sources.

It amazes me! I am a voter and I have tried very had to who would do the best job in each election, for the people. A very big issue I feel needs a good looking an overhual is how predators are dealt with. Our son was harmed and abused by an offender, finally after 3 years this person received 5 years. the victims are put thru the mill. It should matter how many counties involved the counties should care enough about these kids, to let one county take over and let the other counties help them to convict and put these people away. It sure would make it easier on the kids that have already had to go thru so much already, why should everyone not care enough about the child so they can all get their county points, Another thing our representative real need to acknowledge how bad this problem has gotten and not pass it off, like it will go away. It's getting worse! I wrote so many and calls trying to find out who actually cares about this. Yes some things are getting done. But for as fast as the problem is growin we are not doing enough! Out of everyone I contacted, it really showed how many representing our state, our people, didn't want to deal with it, or passed me off like I was nobody. But yet I AM SOMEBODY. I am a mom that Loves her family and our son, who happened to get Molested and Bullied. Rural Missourians struggle with mental health treatment options

There are 1.6 million people living in rural Missouri, and many have a hard time accessing health care.

In the 2011 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s healthy county rankings, Howell County - West Plains Missouri is rated one of the worst in the state in terms of mental health.

It’s so bad, residents say they experience just over a week’s worth of poor mental health days each month. They are also unhealthier and experience more poverty than the national average.
Charlotte O’Dell is trying to find a mobile home court or an RV park. She works as a counselor for Pathways, a community mental health center with offices all over Missouri.
“So you see these folks are marginal in many ways. Many of them are so depressed they won’t get out of bed for days.”
Today O’Dell is visiting FAKE Vet . He’s 50-year-old, unemployed, and diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
FAKE vet greets O’Dell on the porch of his mobile home, pulling the door shut behind him. His weight makes just coming to the door difficult. He wears a pink shirt, matching sweatpants and has his hair pulled back into a high ponytail. Standing on the porch, O’Dell launched right into the treatment plan.
They’re reviewing stuff that may sound really basic like grocery shopping and getting out of the house. FAKE Vet shares his progress. Things like walking to the end of the driveway and back a few times a week for exercise. And attempting to bake her meals instead of frying them. A follow-up appointment is made for the next week.
FAKE Vet said the program has helped him. he was already on Medicaid when he was referred to Pathways. Even then it took him a few months before he was able to get in to see someone about his bipolar disorder. And for someone with bipolar disorder, a few months can seem like an eternity.
There are 1.6 million rural residents living in Missouri many of whom have an even harder time accessing care.
