Again you miss the point. It is irrelevant
whether a few people in Japan, Canada, etc.
think they can eat horses, dogs, cats etc.
and still call themselves civilized. Americans
don't think it is consistent with their notions
of being civilized and they are the ones
being asked to subsidize it through U.S.D.A.
inspections. As for your lame argument that
there are worse things they already misuse your
tax money for -perhaps true (e.g. building more
nuclear weapons)- what sense does it make then
to say"well then, let's add another misuse ?"
Also, it is contradictory for you to say that
you take the Bible as the source for your
moral authority, then imply that Leviticus is
wrong for saying that eating horses, pigs, rabbits,
etc. is unclean, sinful. Was God wrong in this
commandment or did Moses misunderstand the message?
Is the Bible your moral authority or do you
pick and choose which scriptures you consider
real ?

I think you miss the point. There are much more important issues{abortion for starters} that deserve attention rather getting on a soap box for horses that no one whats. As far as the Bible You pointed out it said not to eat horses, my question was do you also abstain from pigs, lobsters, etc. or do you pick and choose?

Rockville was an easy choice for this kind of company. Being a resident here you notice many things. Having a population of 119 and 100 are unemployed. I get a grin when I hear people talking about how Rockville, suffered when the meat plant closed down. Fact is only a few people were employed there from Rockville. The only benefit will be for the thieving store across the street. What I will witness everyday is the unemployed chemists riding a horse into town for meth money! I can now feel a little relief from this. My personal property will no longer be the target of these thieves. The human product the meth drug produces, is worthless. Shame they also can't be slaughtered! Now horse owners will have many problems. The days of "Horse Thieving" will become alive again. When you look at the property the plant is located on, you have to question where the 80 truck loads a day of horses will be stored? I can only imagine the sounds of this many horses, in the middle of the night. For me maybe it's a blessing it could disturb the late night paranoid dopers to move out of town! While hitting the pipe listening for sounds in the night, they will be going crazy by the terrified sounds of a horse waiting to die. My neighbors welcome it, I am sickened about it.

Silence you backwoods buffoon ! You don't
understand my Master Plan. This is all about
conquering China before they conquer us ! The
plan is to poison them with toxic horsemeat.
Look, we don't let even our dogs and cats
eat it now, I don't really want Americans
to eat it - unless they are prisoners or
school children and it will make me money.
The horse has always been a weapon of war-
now it will be again as bio-chemical war
against the Chinese. Why do I have to spell
out everything to you Missouri idiots ? Poor
people, taxpayers and horses are just
"collateral damage" in the war against China-
and to line my own pockets. If you don't
like it, TS !

Known throughout the horse industry as "Slaughterhouse Sue" Ms. Wallis has an agenda Rockville will not like. She forms internet LLC's for $100 or so and gives herself a fancy title. There is no staff except maybe her husband and 7 kids but she wants to be known as the CEO, President, COO, Chairman. Folks it's a ruse. She claims to speak for the horse industry yet doesn't own any and most of the industry actually loathe her for her tactics and ludecrous claims. Number 1...it's almost impossible to humanely kill a horse. They use a captive bolt and often have to hit the animal 8 or 9 times because of the horses instinct to flee. Still most of the horses are only stunned and wake up while they are literally being butchered alive. Number 2...The meat is Toxic. Horses in the US are given vaccines, pain killers i.e. Bute, and de-wormer's that are toxic in the meat and make it unfit for human consumption. Ingesting this meat will make you quite ill or even kill you. Even the major market in Europe has now banned US horsemeat for just this reason. Number 3...Legislation is in both houses of congress to end this barbaric practice altogether in this country. Now what could you expect should you decide not to head my warning? Take a look at what happened to Kaufman, Texas http://www.forbes.com/sites/vickeryeckhoff/20...
Of course they are "supposed to tested for those "toxins". I don't like horse slaughter any more than the next person, but sometimes it just has to be done. I own 3 horses of my own. And to be honest, if they were suffering I would rather shoot them in the head and end it as supposed to inject them with grugs that are actually more painful and "BARBARIC" than just shooting them. They go into repiratpory failure, heart failure and experience alot of pain but they are paralyzed and can't do anything about it. That's why they don't twitch or jump when injected. That is more barbaric to me than shooting them in the head. And all the twitching you see after they are shot.....IT'S JUST NERVES!!! Watch a deer after it is shot in the heart. I have had a deer that had it's head and guts completely gone and and the muscle was still twitching!! Come on people. It's not rocket science. As I said I don't like the thought of horse slaughter either, but it is gonna have to be done sooner or later and whether it is done here in the U.S. or not it is going to happen, so just deal with it. Would you rather they have to travel over 1000 miles without food and water to die, or would you rather it can be done without that nessecary suffering. You people don't really care about the horses either!! If you did you would look at all sides of the situation. You think you are saving them, but really you are just gonna make then suffer more and longer. That is in my opinion "barbaric".

Idiot? I think you the idiot!! Have you ever had to kill anything in your life? Have ever eaten beef, chicken, or pork? Watch the many videos on pigs especially. They are one of the hardest animals to kill!! And these horses are gonna die one way or another just as he said. Would you like to travel up to 1000 miles on a trailer without food or water and hope you don't starve to death or collapse from lack of water? You have to look at it logically. I own 3 horses and I will be the first to tell you that when mine become to old or become hurt and have to be put down... I will be the one to do it with my gun. If they are injected by the cocktail from the vet they go into respiratory failure and heart failure, while they are still alive!!!!! That is far more painful than a shot to the head. The only reason they don't twitch when they are injected is becasue they are also paralyzed by the cocktail. How unfair is that??? You are definately the idiot!!

logic teacher wrote:
wrong again ! In logic this is called the
either/or fallacy when you try and limit
people to two alternatives when there are
in fact many. "Either we slaughter horses here
in the U.S. or we ship them to Mexico." False:
the next step is to outlaw the sale of horses
for human consumption period. No more shipping
anywhere. New Jersey just joined California
in outlawing horse slaughter - processing or
shipping - in their state. Here is another false
alternative: "either you must buy a horse who
would otherwise go to a slaughterhouse or you have
no right to object to horse slaughter." False:
anyone who pays taxes has a right to object
to it being used in ways they find morally
unacceptable. It is a government who allows
commercial horse breeders to cause the problem
of starving horses, not P.E.T.A. members.
Therefore government should correct it. Blaming
a vegetarian for the suffering caused by a greedy
race horse industry which they don't support is
as ridiculous as a vegetarian blaming McDonald's
for the fact that China eats horses, tigers,
dogs, etc. etc. You are only responsible for
what you yourself support or do not oppose
politically. Class dismissed.
You need to go back school teach. Great idea, outlaw horses from being shipped, then they starve to death and continue to suffer. Great plan. There are plenty of ranchers that have ranches on both sides of the borders. What are you gonna do with them? Tell them they can't transport there own property across the border even though they are supposed to be used for ranching purposes? I don't think so. You can't control what people do I don't care how much you speak up politically. I do agree that the race horse industry is a big part of the problem, but why not go after them??? Limit them to how many they can produce each year.... hmm. That might work a little better. Go after the source of the problem, not one of the solutions!!! Come on!

You are such an idiot. It's not that us "real" horse owners don't know when to get rid of them, we have a heart and take care of them as long as we can. You need to come to the farm for a day and see if you could take. I doubt it. You couldn't handle the stuff that has to be done everyday.

One more question Bob. Do you own horses or are you the couch expert you come off as? Good idea for to keep busy for the rest of your life. But you'd better hook on the tractor with backhoe. You'll be having to bury your kill. But first you'd better check on permits needed and see if you can bury your kills. Don't you worry about what a 100,000 carcasses will do to the water table. Just alittle rot won't hurt anybody. 100,00 horses Bob go to slaughter EVERY year. If you decide not to get off your couch then what? The next 5 years will add 100,000 a year..not counting those evil mustangs that keep breeding. We know you donate Bob so what happens to these horses? The have lifespan of 20 or 30 years..so after that we should be good. We know stopping the evil breeders will fix the problem in the next 30 years. Shoot it did for the excess dogs and cats! There are NO pounds needed in any of our towns..the aren't being killed in these dogpounds. Theses dogs and cats have a lifespan of 10 to15 years..we still are dumping them. NO logic. But hey stop slaughter and your tax money will go for caring for these horses. I think the rate is $3600.00 a horse per year if hay doesn't go up.Now add 30 years per horse. Oh yeah Bob, you'll donate your money rather you want to or not. You already are. The government has hundreds of mustangs in holding...YOU are paying for that now. So when you get slaughter stopped and even get the borders closed figure on more government holding facilities. You're "winning!" Just get your checkbook ready because there is no little horsey fairy that's going carry the excess horses away or their carcasses either. You'll be donating cash instead of jaw action. Spew all the nasty names and such, because none you ding a ling couch experts can't come with a real solution. People loose their homes, jobs and other crisis arises..30 years is a long span for perfect life. Dogs are left at the pounds for the reasons..and their lifespans are much shorter. Who wants 28 year old horse that not halter broke when the owner dies? You people can sure come with the nasty names but no logic. Grow up people eat meat. If they want horse meat who are you to deny them? Take our choices take our freedom. Just alittle Every day. You're winning! I don't think you're gonna like the end result you get. I hope you get all slaughter plants in US closed. I'll have my home-grown meat and you my couch experts can do without or by from some Mexican slaughterhouse. Good luck I wish you get everything you deserve.

you are all over the map, cornbread. Yes, as
Logic Teacher pointed out, the solution is to
limit the horse breeders who are responsible for
25,000 horses foaled a year and 90% of them they
don't want. But people like you howl like coyotes
whenever you talk about more "federal regulation".
Government lets commercial horse breeders cause
the problem of "surplus" horses, but then they
don't do anything to correct it. So what is your
answer ? To go on forever making people have to
choose between Mexico and American slaughterhouses?
What is it exactly you are trying to argue ? That
horse owners should be responsible for killing
their own horses when the time comes? Then why
should they evade that responsibility by dumping
them off at a slaughterhouse to let some body
do their killing for them ? "I don't like horse
slaughter more than anybody else but sometimes it
just has to be done"? No it doesn't. Stop the
overbreeding and you end the problem. No need
for horse slaughter plants at all. But why won't
anyone do anything about it ? Because they howl
about federal regulations !

This woman(Sue Wallis) is nothing but
a lying snake oil salesman/con artist.
Why do people continue to believe anything that despicable loathsome lying toad has to say?

According to the report she and her attorney were in the process of incorporating 2 separate LLC's so they could screw Rockville by sheltering any assets, just like Kaufman Texas got screwed over by their previous horse slaughter plant.Sounds to me like Rockville was saved from a potential nightmare.

Wake up!!
