Or just shoot me an email. Ksims@eldoradonews.com. I'm not hard to find and obviously I'm important enough in your life to talk about me on the El Dorado site.
Is anything in your life important enough for people to talk about on here? I really doubt it.
Boy, if you only knew. Yeah, you need to grow up. YOU'RE CRYING ABOUT BEING "CYBER BULLIED!!!" How pathetic.

You're not a shred of importance in my life. However, the BS you post about others working hard to improve this town must stop. It will either stop by you getting canned or by constant ridicule. I will continue being the one creating the tears that keep you awake at night. This site was created to ridicule others; however, I choose to use it to correct your ignorant comments. It seems that others feel the same way. Don't like it? Keep your negative comments to yourself. You're on a fast track of having your punkass ran out of town.

It's sad that my topic has degenrated to cheap name calling, mostly by one person instead of what I tried to do by bringing attention to a fifty million dollar folly. The attention should be on how this money shouldn't be used to build an "entertainment" center but on getting industry interested in coming here to put money in people's pockets so they can afford some entertainment. Solve the job situation, then start on building entertainment complexes.

Seems like the only topics on here that survive are the ones that are trashing someone not the ones that bring social issues to the front.

If I should know, why are you so scared to name yourself. You can do it in private. I'm easy to find. Obviously you know me. Am I supposed to know you?

The use of profanity and "non-intelligent" posts are only what people like Sims (and yourself) will understand. Glad my message got across. Now, GROW THE FUCKUP, PAPER BOY!
You know nothing about me yet call me "non-intelligent"? Who needs to grow up NOW?

My name is Andrea and I have a masters degree in Architecture yet I am "non-intelligent".:)

Another "know it all" with a degree, acting like they're an expert in everything. You will begin gaining intelligence when you begin practicing modesty and actually work with the public. If you already are, then your real education has already began. Good luck gaining your intelligence.

From what I understand, this plan has been modeled after another that seemed to work VERY well. Brought back a city in Ashland, OR. It's meant as a means to bring tourists into our city & WOULD provide jobs in our area, not to mention boost current business sales. Meant to introduce a new industry to El Do- tourism. I'm all for a progressive El Dorado & think this will bring both visitors & new residents!

And the tourism industry was the second highest grossing revenue industry last year.

Maybe for places that actually had something to do or see. I can see tourism flourishing in Nashville, Hot Springs, any city that has a professional sports team, Hollywood, or any other large well populated city but it isn't going to happen here. We need jobs no plays. Also what worked well for one city may not work well for another just like anything else may work for one but not another.

So you're saying this won't work because El Dorado doesn't have any attractions or something to pull visitors? That's the whole plan! To build a reason for people to want to visit, live, & work here! It's an add on along with The Promise & beautiful historic downtown & Murphy Oil & Murphy USA making El Dorado a pull to residents & visitors. We have to think of El Dorado's future. Turn your back on this & any other future endeavors & see what happens. If we do nothing El Dorado WILL become a ghost town!

With the crackpot scheme of turning the downtown area into a cultural center our city leaders will be coming to us asking for us to vote in another sales tax increase to fund it. With our town being one plant closing away from turning into a ghost town, these gomers want to spend 50 million dollars to turn the entire south end of downtown into a theater and cultural district. Why not put that kind of expenditure into luring a major business to come here and employ 500 people? Having "culture" isn't going to bring El Dorado back, having jobs will. Who in their right mind is going to say to themselves, "I just have to move to El Dorado where they have a theater, Don't know where I'll work to support myself but I just have to move there"? Not to mention, how many businesses will this scheme displace and not pay them what there property and business is really worth? These so called leaders need to get their heads out of the clouds and come back to earth and figure a way to bring jobs to El Dorado, not Shakespeare and pocket parks.
I agree! Enough is Enough. the convention center doesnt seem busy enough to pay for itself. Bring us jobs even if its for our children to take advantage of. Im a job away from moving away with my kid and parents. And that El Dorado will be four less people to charge your taxes to.

Just "Clearing things up", there is no new tax being imposed to pay for this. They are asking for funds from the existing economic development tax. They have also said that this plan will have 200 or so jobs.

The city leaders seem to have a plan and are executing it. The city has chased several companies for several years and have not found anyone interested in setting up shop. What is your idea?

Finally! Someone informed that actually knows what they are talking about! It's hard for others to believe your facts when they want to express their miserable, negative opinion so badly. But at least they have seen the truth at least once.

For those that may be interested in learning more about the city that this theater idea is based on:

And the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, that this city puts on:
