That is a great question. I was sitting next to a group of people at lunch today talking about the parade being cancelled.

No you weren't. It hasn't been cancelled.

Maybe Channel 10 has archive footage of video coverage which could be edited into a "Parades of Christmas Past" movie which could be projected onto a building wall on the square throughout the shopping season every night.

I believe it is a disrespecting nickname for the current head of the local chamber of commerce.

That would be a great idea! It could be used to keep people excited for the parade for this year on December 6th and in future years!

In worst case scenario, it could help distract young children waiting in a long line for lap time at Santa at the Square.

Give it up. You are the only one that keeps posting about the parade going on as usual. People call you out, then you hide your isp and post as someone else. How bad can your life be that you spend this much time with trying to convince people of something that is not going to happen. You have serious issues.

No, I'm not. Look back through the forum. Only one pissy individual is claiming that the parade is cancelled. Many different isp locations have claimed that the parade has NOT been cancelled. I actually know people who work on it every year, and they have already talked about when planning will begin. So, YOU have shown to have some serious issues, and YOU need to quit lying by saying the parade is cancelled, when it is clearly not.

In all fairness, both of you are acting immature and need to get informed. Clearly, almost all of these recent posts are coming from just two individuals. Neither one of you are helping your credibility whatsoever.

Just to settle this dispute, it was announced last year that the Chamber and the Jaycees are hosting the parade. They did so last year with great success. They are set to do so again this year. Planning and donations for the parade never begin until August, so any claims of "lack of funding" is complete fabrications. The parade is always held the first Thursday in December, and if anyone is interested in helping out with it, I encourage you to contact the Chamber in August to see how to get involved. Such planning has its own designated time, and I'm sure you all will appreciate the time that these individuals VOLUNTEER, which means they are not compensated for, put in for this event every year. Any claim that the parade is cancelled is false, as it does not become a priority until planning begins.

don't guess I know him? I thought that what chamber did. Festivals, parade, business after hours, etc... don't we have quorum courts, city councils, economic development boards, task forces, hired professionals, agencies and blah blah blah.

This guy has serious mental problems. He is very confused. I don't think anyone will talk any logic with him. He is disturbed and delusional. All because the Christmas Parade was cancelled.

It's just not fair to the kids to have to sit on Santa's lap instead of a Christmas Parade.
