Walgreens buying out USA drug is a total nightmare. My meds have more than doubled in cost. I will never set foot in a walgreens store again.

In times of economic trouble, we will see more and more corporate consolidation. When that happens, prices tend to go up and up. Get used to it, we have four more years of Obama and his fascist style of dealing with economic problems. Honestly, if we get a Republican in office it wouldn't be much better. Both parties are seriously corrupted and on the extremist sides of their own spectrum. Communists vs. Fascists is about all we are going to get anymore. Both are actually forms of socialism. So the whole Rep. argument that democrats are socialists is kind of silly, because they technically are too!

We stopped using Walgreens a year ago when we noticed how much more their meds were. I questioned the pharmacist and she admitted it but said it was corporate and shrugged it off. We started using Melvin's. The prices where better but it's a nightmare at times getting in and out of the parking lot on Hillsboro and it seems to never fail, we can call in a refill but it's never filled 3 days later when we go to pick it up. Cheaper but the service is about the same...

You and everyone else will start seeing medicines skyrocket in price over the next few years. Its not enough that my health insurance costs are up 15%, my medications will go up too. We can all thank Obamacare for that. Anyone see the stats that came out the other day about how much more (%) insurance costs are now per state? Its horrible, and is only going to get higher. Even worse, a friend of mine's father relies on a certain medication to stay alive. It used to be paid by medicare. Not anymore. They will pay for people under 65 to have the medication, but not anyone over that age. All the fear mongering from democrats before the elections, accusing republicans of wanting to take old people's medicare away, and now we're seeing all sorts of things get ripped away from the elderly, as if they're not important enough to keep alive. I'm not making this up. Its seriously disturbing.

I've never had a problem with the service at Melvin's. The parking can be hectic at times, so you do have a point there.

There's no problem with parking anywhere in town. You just have a problem of not getting there early enough.

Son, go back to school, take a government class, and figure out what the hell you are actually talking about before making idiotic statements like this. We can't even begin to talk about how screwed up your remark is it's so wrong.

When your meds aren't ready it's usually because #1 there are no refills and they are waiting on a new script from your dr ...which we all know they take their time. And they can't just give you refills on whatever we ask them to #2 your script is so old they have to have a new rx. Just because it has refills from 10 years ago doesn't mean they are still good.#3 we are all human. Sometimes things get lost or misplaced.

Melvin's is a great local pharmacy. Prices are great. Employees are helpful and you couldn't find a better man than the man himself

I don't think people realize how much the government controls the pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare laws I'm America.

So, you know what "they" meant? By the way it sounds, she doesn't have a clue that the purchase took place. Since you referred to one individual as "they," you are the dumbass now.

"She" covers he and she. Another appropriate way of denoting an unknown gender reference is "he/she." No, you're not a dumbass for not knowing this. But the fact that you attempted, and failed, to point out something so trivial. That shows your side of the argument is tired. Enjoy your day!

I too am very unhappy with the Walgreens takeover. I've been a USA customer since they opened as SuperD. I love Scott and his staff. They are doing the best they can with this transition. I can promise you they hate it as much if not more than the customers. Please feel free to complain on the Walgreens website, but be sure to acknowledge that the problems lie within the corporate structure not our local store.

Also, I've had to go to Melvin's a few times for another family member. I was not impressed with them at all. I didn't feel the customer service was on par with USA.
