When you go there to eat pay attention when you pay your bill. They have cameras in several places and the monitor is behind the counter where you pay. When we paid our bill Sunday there was a worker looking at the monitor, he would zoom in and look, then he found a table of very overweight people. He paused the camera, took out his iPhone and took a photo of them. Why he did this I don't know, I thought it was extremly rude. I guess he thought no one was paying attention to what he was doing.
I think they are just trying to find out the person that left without paying

Yes. He was Chinese. That's the exact same thing I was thinking. It was upsetting to watch that happen to people who were completely oblivious. Part of me wishes I would of told them, but then again, I would be so hurt if that happened to me. I don't know if I would even want to know.
they are just trying to find a person that left without paying , I seen it happen , and I don't think they are making fun of us at any way

The person had just gotten there. She had a full plate of food along with three other women with full plates. I don't believe they left without paying... And that's why he got his phone out and took pictures? He wasn't making fun of them? Okay.

From today's paper. Looks like someone wasn't happy with their service.

It is with deep concern and disappointment that I write this letter. While visiting my family in El Dorado, Ark., from Cleveland, Ohio, my cousins and I decided to go out to eat. There were several places we could have gone, but we chose the Buffet Palace.

Upon arrival, the atmosphere seemed what I consider family friendly. The three of us paid for our lunch buffet and drinks. We fixed our food, sat and ate and conversed with each other. We then got up to go back to the buffet. My cousin was back at the table and I was still browsing. As I approached the table, the waitress was informing my cousin that she had to pay the dinner price because she had foods on her plate that were dinner items. So, she did. I had one item on my plate that was a dinner item. She told me the same thing. So I said I didn’t think it was fair to pay a dinner price for only one item. She went to get the
manager. He stated the same thing. I also told the both of them there were no visible signs and I was a new customer. Instead
of management saying OK but next time this is what you do, he took my plate and dumped it in the garbage. I was taken aback
from that. Also, I felt humiliated and violated. Other customers in the restaurant were looking at us. To add insult to injury, it was a terrible experience to learn they were watching cameras to see who’s eating what. I felt also if lunch was ending and dinner was starting, they should have informed us upon arrival. I felt compelled to write this letter because I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else. And the action by management was not justified. I will not return to this restaurant and would not recommend it to any one of my family members or friends.

Welcome to El Dorado. Or as many of us fondly call this place, for good reason, HELLDorado.

Seriously, most of us drive a good hour and a half at least to get to the restaurants worth a damn. Next time you come to town, restrict your dining to the square or the two Timberlane seafood places. If you want Chinese go to Oriental Gardens. That's the only stuff that is good, and its excellent. Everything else here is horrible.

Buffet Palace is not a clear reflection of the many quality restaurants found right here in El Dorado (saw your misspelling; hope I helped). I agree with you on downtown restaurants, Timberlane, and OG. Thanks for providing examples!

WHEN THEY FIRST OPENED THE FOOD WAS EXCELLANT TO ME. THEY HAD JUST ABOUT ALL OF THE LUNCH CROWDS THERE DURING LUNCH AND EVEN SUPPER. AS TIME HAS PASSED, THE FOOD IS NOT LIKE IT WAS AT FIRST. DOESNT HAVE THE TASTE IT DID AT FIRST. THOUGHT HELLDORADO WOULD HAVE A GOOD PLACE TO EAT BUT IT WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS TOO BEFORE LONG.

All you can eat doesn't mean all day long. Don't show up at lunchtime, stay all afternoon and think you can eat supper for free. Eat lunch and leave like normal folks do.

That pretty much describes what happens to every restaurant in this town except for the ones listed in a post above. Its because its hard to get decent, hardworking people as employees in this town.

They achieved their goal and that was to knock out the competition!! Food is good, but not as good and ass big of selection as it was when they had competition!! I heard they was going up on their prices before long!! I guess its stll a good deal with the remaining variety of food a.d all you can eat too!! I have noticed the parking lot is no way near as full of cars as it once was anytime I would pass by there, or go in to eat!! I seen why the other day when I stopped in for lunch!!

There are three Asian restaurants in town and many people still favor Oriental Gardens because it is an El Dorado staple and their taste preference. How exactly did that nasty buffet knock out the competition if there are two other places in town still here?

The people that run this place are idots. First they accuse me of not paying. When I told them I have never stole anythang a day in my life they say its on camera. So I go to see the footage and now it's not me it was somebody else. Bit it's the way they handled the whole situation it was horrible. Will never be back!!!!!!!!!!

Look at the article. They said they were from out of town. They didn't know that. You can pay first if you want to. Do you work there? Do you own the place? From your poor grammar and spelling it looks like you're a foreigner.

It's clean, but not the cleanest. Food is okay, but not the best. I would rather eat at the other two Asian restaurants before I eat there. That's just my preference. Well, mine and most everyone else that I speak to.

Oriental Gardens is definitely our favorite and has been since I was a child. It's been around as long as I can remember and is still always packed for lunch. It's a real restaurant, not a nasty buffet. Thank goodness we have OG and not just the others.
