<quoted text> El Dorado IS a hopeless hell hole. Ten more years will prove it to be so when the population is lowered or stagnated from what it is now. If it stagnates that just means that for every white person that leaves this shit hole there will be a welfare baby popped out. Chances are it will go lower again, unless we get more industry here but town officials work pretty hard to make sure every opportunity for that is missed and instead they will promote some shitty store, new venue or bar in hopes of making El Dorado a "festival town". Festival town my ass. Throwing parties isn't going to get us anywhere.
I definitely agree that many town officials lack a business sense geared towards bringing industry here. But there's nothing shitty about our local shops. We are lucky to have so many little mom n pop shops for a town our size. Who doesn't love going to the square and walking around and shopping and eating at La Bellas, House of Wylie, etc.? We've got all sorts of little shops like that as well as some damn good food and thats part of what makes that area of our town so pleasant and relaxing. My only complaint is our lack of clothing. That I don't get. We have a couple of cute shops but the quality of the clothing is poor and overpriced. Its also juvenile in taste, probably appealing more to girls in their teens and early 20s. With the exception of a few things from Shelly's, every article of clothing I own, I have bought online. Especially my work suits, which I'm not going to buy from JC Penny just for them to itch from poor quality material, then unravel in a few months time. Theres no reason for us not to have a couple of fine boutiques here. We need more finery than just Shelly's shoes, which is obviously a shoe store not a clothing store.

<quoted text> Tedder no. 2 is obviously just as delusional. We've got white trash all over this area. All over this entire part of the country, really. It doesn't bother me much though. I like rednecks, personally. My redneck friends are country as hell but they're fun and the kind of people that would do anything to help out a friend, or even a stranger. We've got some real salt of the earth people around here. But I'm definitely not some idiot thats in denial about what other type of people we also have. Ever seen that show "buck wild" on mtv? Or Honey Boo Boo? We've got plenty of those types around here, and definitely not just in PC. Just because there are a lot of classy, educated people that live in town doesn't mean we don't have people on the opposite side of that spectrum as well.
I agree. This Tedder 2 tool needs to pack up his negativity and take it somewheres else. Even PC doesn't want him!

<quoted text> We don't refuse to acknowledge the problems, we just don't harp on them. We choose to see the good in the town and all of its possibilities. I agree that ignoring the problems would mean never solving them. Ranking lowest in health, in one of the unhealthiest states in the country, is obviously a problem. And its something many people will be trying to address, particularly through the school system. Look on the bright side though. At least we aren't as bad off as parts of other states are, like Mississippi, W. Virginia, Louisiana and Georgia. We might be the bottom of Arkansas barrel but we are NOT as bad off as many other places are. Northern Arkansas is real nice, everyone knows that. But at least we aren't like Pine Bluff or anything. We aren't a hopeless hell-hole like some people would make us out to be.
I agree completely. The best place to combat the health problems is in the school system. If we worked harder to get better food in the cafeterias and teach kids healthier living, we would see the new generations being more health conscious. Many areas of many states are doing just that, and its time we get on board and make a stronger effort. Statistics like those mentioned in the article the other day are unacceptable and I believe the problems could be remedied in just five years or so if people made a real effort.

All of you sound stupid to me. Hardly anything intelligent is ever said here. Its all a bunch of morons bitching at each other without saying anything worth a damn. "Real Idiots" is just about the most Topix obsessed loser I have seen on here. I check Topix maybe once every few weeks or so and it never fails to see that guy on here being crazy. Anyone who bothers to even talk to him is just as stupid and wasting their time. I mean, why even try communicating with someone who is obviously mentally unstable or possibly retarded? Seriously, someone tell me why you bother arguing with that guy. What good does it do? Obviously, nobody listens to this tool, so why bother?

Now the crazy guy is stalking my posts. Great. I must've really gotten under his skin. People like that ruin any decent conversation thats on here. It sucks. Next time I'll not even comment about the looney tune so it doesn't mess up every thread I post on.
