Anybody heard any updates this morning? A 9 Y O from Magnolia got lost out at Marysville yesterday while squrriell hunting with family. Magnolia School is out Monday and today. The last I heard was that at 2 AM today a helicopter with a heat seeker was still flying the area. It's in the Magnolia Reporter paper and on MyArkLaMiss but as usual not this POS El Dorado paper. Anybody know anybody out that way?

I know lots of people out that way and they are looking along with a number of agencies. I hope they find this child soon.

I just heard that they found him and he was dead. Apparently he fell and his gun fired and killed him. So sorry for this family.

Body of missing 9-year-old hunter found in Union Co., AR
The body of a missing 9-year-old Magnolia boy has been found in Union County, not far from where he went missing on Monday.
UNION COUNTY, AR (KSLA)-
The body of a missing 9-year-old Magnolia boy has been found in Union County, not far from where he went missing on Monday.
Union County Sheriff Mike McGough confirms 9-year-old Hank Bollen was found in the woods late Tuesday morning in Union County, less than a mile north of Shuler Rd. near the Union-Columbia county line.
That's not far from the Scotsville Deer Camp, where the boy left Monday morning armed with a single shot 22 rifle. While it was initially reported that he went squirrel hunting with family members, Sheriff McGough says he went alone.
McGough says they were called in just before dark Monday night by the Arkansas Fish & Game Commission after the boy didn't return home. Crews searched on the ground and from the air, using helicopter and searchlights to circle the area. McGough says lack of visibility due to darkness may have hampered their ability to see the 9-year-old's body during the search overnight.
It's not clear yet whether it was deputies who found the boy's body or family members, who were also involved in the search.
McGough confirms it appears the boy suffered at least one gunshot wound. Bollen's body is being sent to the crime lab in Little Rock for autopsy.

Neglect. Pure and simple. Too young and not looked after. Both parents will be in jail for this. So sad.

Look stop being so hard on the parents. Just because this was a child hurting alone doesn't mean he was wasn't responsible or experienced enough to do so. I've seen many moronic adults that shouldn't be allowed to cross the street unsupervised. Many children die in hunting accidents, but so do adults. The key word here is accident.

Don't think the parents will have to sit in jail to suffer the consequences of this tragedy. I am sure their hearts are broken. Have a little common decency, people. No ne knows all the details yet.

We are devastated. My little man Hank fell crossing a creek yesterday and accidentally shot himself and was killed yesterday. He and Kelli live with me and he was like my own son. Pray for us especially Kelli. He was her only son. Pray for the entire family. He was Judy Bollen's only grandson.

There are some 9 year olds who are mature and able to hunt alone. Please don't start blaming the mother. She has lost her son and I can't even imagine what she's going through.

TOPIX is no place to make such judgmental comments on such a sensitive subject." Remove the plank from YOUR eye before worrying about the speck in someone elses eye!". You were not there, and you do not know what happened. The loss of a child is devastating. At this point, the community needs to support the family. This can be done through prayer, cards, letters, food, visits, flowers. But a great way to help would be to donate to the bank fund that has been set up.

This is horrible and I feel bad for the family but a 9 year old should not be allowed to hunt alone. It's just a part of the gun-toting south mentality I suppose. Poor boy.

You are an idiot. The 'gun-toting south mentality' is part of life since we do live in the south, you moron. Would you rather have a ballet dancer as a husband, son, etc.? That seems more your type. Many of us were raised to hunt for food and enjoy it. I guess you have the grocery store hunt for yours? Someone kills it whether you understand that or not.
