I have no opinion about his case in particular. However, if I had to choose between the death sentence and life in prison, for me personally I would think the FAR WORSE penalty would be life in prison - to be caged like an animal for the rest of my life - death would be a blessing! Free food and shelter for life? Big deal. Life caged like an animal with a bunch of other animals? No thanks.

Caged like an animal? You usually get to go outside periodically. You get to smoke, have sex, woodwork, watch tv, hang out with your new friends... You can even attend church, for you religious people. It's hardly a vacation, but still better than death. Not all prisons are like they show in the movies.

I went to school with Jeremy.... He always seemed really troubled. Honestly I didn't think he was capable of something like this, but I guess you never know what someone will do.

Sometimes, after a few years, the company of another man will suffice... That's the reality.

Take it from a former corrections officer Administrative Segregation (known as AdSeg)IS being caged like an animal - they are in the cell 23 hours out of the day and the one hour that they are "outside" is literally in a cage outside. I know I worked there. The ones who are in GenPop get the prize though, they get to drop a deuce while all the rest of the animals watch. AdSeg is not how I want to spend my golden years either dude.

I've seen true life prison shows and they roam around outside writing raps, smoking cigs (sometimes pot), lifting weights, playing games, making furniture, etc. Perhaps where you worked things were a little different.

Unfortunately, when he eventually goes to prison, he will not be treated very good. As soon as the other inmates catch wind of his sex charge, he will be a target of hate, violence, and discontent. I know this may sound funny to some of you. But sexual offenders are considered the lowest man on the totem pole so to speak. Another strike against him is that his alleged new charge is also violence against a woman. They do not take kindly to crimes against women and children. It seems to be some kind of criminal code. Yes he will have food, and depending on his behavior time on the yard. But smoking is not allowed in Arkansas. Ofcourse they still smoke, and bring tobacco into the facilities, but the punishment for being caught only adds time to your sentence. The only way sex is available is to either take one for the team or pay a female guard.(Yes, that does happen) With this said, if indeed he receives the death penalty, he will be housed on death row in solitary confinement. The 23 hours a day, 1 hour "leisure time" in another cage.

In other words, the death penalty definitely seems like a worse option than life in prison... Unless word gets out that you are a serial rapist/child molester. I pretty much agree.

That's just too bad. Stupid is, as stupid does. And what goes around, comes around. It may take awhile, but it's true.

How about we all just understand he screwed up he is going to pay for it, and pray for all involved. Yes, he did things that are deemed unforgivable. Seriously though,

Tell me please, which of you is with out sin? I would love to know of the second coming of Christ!
I feel for all parties involved including Jeremy. He was a really nice guy when I knew him, but obviously he got side tracked along the way. I pray for them all, and hope to God this situation never happens to any of you.

Death row inmates spend 23 hrs a day locked in individual cells with one hr out to play basketball in a 5 by 10 fenced in area. they can stay on death row for as many as 30 yrs.
The true life stuff is people serving life sentences. Meaning they just live out their life in prison. Rather than execution. The living arrangements of death row inmates is nothing to desire. Can you image never being touched for the rest of your life, and I mean hug a relative, kiss a lover, or even touch their skin? Unless you count the manly guard that man handles you a sensitive caring touch. Now imagine that way of life for up to 30 yrs?
