Every few weeks someone starts up on Cross life Church. This is a strange obsession. There are lots of people I don't agree with so.....I don't listen or go around them. As far a s I know no one can make you listen nor attend any church or organization. I don't attend Jehovah's witnesses nor Morman nor Catholic churches for example. They haven't forced me too either. I have never attended Cross Life. I don't know the pastor. So what is this obsession with Cross Life about? This constant yammering about them is stranger than any cult. If you don't agree with them, then don't go around them or listen to them. Give it a rest.
You hit the nail on the head with this comment. There is a strange obsession. And no, you don't hear people freaking out about the more "unconventional" beliefs of the LDS or Jehovah's Witness, or even the Pentecostals. Just Cross Life.

The more people bitch about it, the more it actually makes me wonder if they are doing something right.

People in this town sure love to hate. Hate, hate and more hate. FILLED with hate. If you want to disagree with someone's views, thats fine. But I haven't seen that done yet. Not once.

All I see is people calling this church "radical", etc. Never have I seen or heard an actual argument on any of the doctrine taught there. If you disagree with doctrine, then please, debate. But if you are just on here to throw out assumptions and judgments and name calling then yes, FILLED with hate.

But before any of you decide to attack me as well, I will let you know that I personally DISAGREE with the protesting/boycotting of Chippendales and Oddities. I don't see a reason to want to keep either out of El Dorado.

But I'm definitely not going to attack the people who chose to do so by calling them "stupid", "radical", "mindless", or "ignorant" just because I disagree with their actions which are propagated by their own set of religious convictions.

Point is, no matter your views or someone else's, why not keep it clean, intelligent and theological instead of all this name calling and judgmental ranting crap?

Have you ever watched it on tv? It's a little hard to miss. Kinda like the Charlie Sheen stuff. A train wreck in progress.

It's not like the former pastor of another church, whom advanced by television to a larger town. Not with shock tactics. Only good old fashion preaching.

This man at CCL has put himself in public view. People will surely talk about it. The one episode that I saw, he was swinging the mic between his crotch. Not exactly what I want my kids around. That's my opinion. Not hate.

Listen, If people hear it and believe in what he is saying, that is their right.

I just gotta believe that many of the good people there know better and are just not acting on their own good sense to reject his hateful and even ridiculous rhetoric.

You have bibles. Its not a text that is difficult to understand. Clearly what he is preaching is not aligned with the bible and the teachings of Christ our Savior.

His world view is so inaccurate, but he states it loud enough and often enough and with enough sincerity that some believe things that their own bible knowledge and common sense would make them know better.

Again, just THINK! Understand that taking that garbage in will destroy you over time. You too will become callous and unloving. Just think and you will be led to do the right thing.

One thing I won't do is try to quote or paraphrase him here or in any forum. Because any misstatement would only serve his backers. Take an couple of hours and watch him on channel 14.

Wikipedia - Baptists in North America
Roger Williams and John Clarke, his compatriot in working for religious freedom, are variously credited as founding the earliest Baptist church in North America.[27] In 1639, Williams established a Baptist church in Providence, Rhode Island, and Clarke began a Baptist church in Newport, Rhode Island. According to a Baptist historian who has researched the matter extensively, "There is much debate over the centuries as to whether the Providence or Newport church deserved the place of 'first' Baptist congregation in America. Exact records for both congregations are lacking."[11]
The Great Awakening energized the Baptist movement, and the Baptist community experienced spectacular growth. Baptists became the largest Christian community in many southern states, including among the black population.[3]
In 1845, the Baptists congregations in the United States split over three main issues: slavery, missions, and doctrinal integrity. The northern congregations were opposed to members in the southern congregations owning slaves, and tried to prevent slaveholders from being missionaries. However, not appointing a proportionate number of missionaries to the southern region of the US sparked animosity from the southern churches. The southern congregations were also concerned over perceived liberalism in the north, accusing some missionaries of denying virgin birth and divinity of Jesus. The split created the Southern Baptist Convention, while the northern congregations, then known as Northern Baptists, formed their own umbrella organization now called the American Baptist Churches of the USA (ABC-USA).
After the American Civil War, another split occurred: most black Baptists in the South separated from white churches and set up their own congregations. In the late 1860s, they rapidly set up several separate state conventions. In 1895 their three national conventions merged into the National Baptist Convention. With 8 million members, it is the largest African-American religious organization and is second in size to the Southern Baptist Convention.

Brother Dwayne seems to have this obsession with the devil. I don't think you can believe in one without the other. If the love of God doesn't trump the power of the devil where does that leave us.
The devil is alive and very active, as evidenced in many ways in today's society. I thought a pastor's job was to direct people away from satan's ways.

Instead of complaining about our local church, where are all of you holier than thou's, when the idiot's are disrupting soldier's funerals? If you want to call someone nuts, there is a whole assortment associated with that church. Have you read your bible, there is a devil, and you think he talks about the devil too much?

Dwayne Miller should be hung in the Town square and everything would be great ..........but EL DORADO STILL SUCKS!(according to them)

The "COMET" is coming and it is so much closer than you can imagine. It may not be a nuclear war, as previously believed...it just may be what is happening in Japan today and spreading to the West Coast of the US, so if I were you, I would say there are more serious considerations here than "kool aid".

Other than his condinued fasination with satan and the fact that he tries to lable anything he doesn't agree with as the work of satan (which is just about everything) He seems to think he knows when the "end times" are going to be. Which makes him a false prophet as are all that say they know when the end of time will be

Matthew's Gospel, Chapter 24, Verse 36, in which Christ is quoted as saying:

"But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone."

That's a fact. Some are more interested in OTHER sins. One gaming house was around 2 blocks away. Now how do you miss that, may I ask????

I know some people that go to that church, they are good people. They do strange things though and have some strange beliefs. I just smile and keep on doing my own thing, everyone has the right to follow what they want. Who am I to judge?
