This hotel was not up to code 20 years ago- there just came a time when the city & college needed the property for another purpose so they put the hammer down with issuing demands for upgrades that were not economically justified.

No, according to R. "Bubba" Long, there are plans to relocate to somewhere near what used to be Brown's Taxidermy.

The land has been cleared across the highway from Creech's on 82 West for the new Townhouse. It's behind the used car dealership.

kinda sad townhouse has to relocate so far from its customer base but they leaving that mess on Cedar and SW ave. I ate there twice, liked to never been waited on and it was dirty with bugs crawling. Wish townhouse would be able to move into new building on corner of Washington and Hillsboro. That would be perfect site, and new gas station on other corner. Not much to choose from over in that area.

I quit going to the townhouse because of the lack of parking. My car got hit two different times by people in the motel rooms or restaurant. All the buildings South and East of the Townhouse are blighted ghettos and need to be removed. Visitors get a very negative opinion of this town that attend the new Conference Center with all this decay and junk.

They are gonna relocate and last I heard, it'll be on the magnolia highway. And I'm surprised the townhouse/hotel location hasn't been torn down yet.

Well their nicer motels and inns are not kept like they should be either. Hotels and motels not the only thing they driving in the ground. Some other classy to do's here suffering bad from mis management. Is sad really, they come over here to get away from bad life and create same run down bad situations here. They should buy land on corner that days inn was at and build nice new townhouse restaurant with plenty of parking and access from two streets.

GUEST do not be so nasty, I was not talking about Townhouse, was talking about restaurant at Cedar and SW Ave. I also have eaten many a lunch plate out of townhouse and they are great. The few times I have gone in an eaten there, service was good. It was an old structure but seemed clean for age of building. There are a few places they could rebuild near where they are, is going to be hard on downtown area workers who order lunch trays from them if out on city limits. And no I do not own restaurant here, would not open food service business here as hard to find good employees. Townhouse has mostly people who have worked there for years, why so good.
