UNION COUNTY AND OAUCHITA COUNTY ARE PROBABLY THE 2 WEAKEST COUNTIES IN SOUTH ARKANSAS FOR THESE TYPE PRODUCTS, I HAVE A FRIEND UP IN CAMDEN THAT TELLS ME THAT NEW ATWOOD STORE THERE DOES NOTHING, HE SAYS HE DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY EVEN KEEP THE DOOR OPEN,
LOOK AT HENLEY THESE DAYS THEY DO A GOOD CORN BUSINESS IN THE FALL AND FOR A WHILE IN THE SPRING THEY STAY PRETTY BUSY WITH THERE FLOWER AND BEDDING BUSINESS BUT THATS ABOUT IT,
I THINK THIS IS WHY EPINETE REALLY PUSHES THE PET END OF IT, AND DONT SEEM TO WORRY TO MUCH ABOUT THE FARM PART OF THINGS OTHER THAN MAKING SURE HE HAS LOW PRICE FEED FOR WHAT LIVESTOCK IS HERE AND THEN SOME OF THE MORE PREMIUM HORSE FEEDS LIKE PURINA FOR THE FEW THAN CAN AFFORD IT,
ATWOODS AT SOME PLACES SEEM TO DO GOOD WITH THE WESTERN SHIRTS AND JEANS BUT THAT ALSO LOOKS TO ME LIKE EPINETE WILL BEAT THERE PRICE,
AND I BET THOSE PRODUCTS HERE IN THIS TOWN ARE NOT A BIG HITTER TO START WITH ,
OTHER THINGS ATWOOD SELLS LIKE CALF ROPING CHUTES AND PRICEY HORSE STALLS, THEY MAY DO WELL IN THERE HOME STATE OF OKLAHOMA WITH THOSE TYPE ITEMS BUT HOW MANY PEOPLE AROUND HERE NEED A 2 OR 3 THOUSAND DOLLAR ROPING CHUTE ?
THEY HAVE A BIG LINE OF CARHART FOR THE FALL AND WINTER ,BUT THEN YOU HAVE KEN'S WITH EVERYTHING THEY HAVE IN THE CARHART LINE AND KNOWING HIM HE WILL PROBABLY BE AS AGRESSIVE WITH ATWOODS WHEN THEY GET HERE AS EPINETE HAS ALREADY STARTED ,
ATWOODS HAD BETTER HOPE THEY CAN SELL ALOT OF TOOLS AND THOSE CHEAP GENERIC GROCERIES BECAUSE THERE WONT MUCH ELSE HERE FOR THEM,
THAT STORE HERE WILL NEVER DO HAS WELL AS THOSE IN S.W. ARK , I HAVE A FEELING THE ONE IN HOPE DOES PRETTY GOOD WITH THE MARKET THERE HAVE OVER THERE AND THE MAGNOLIA STORE SEEMS TO DO OK, BUY REMEMBER COLUMBIA AND HEAMPSTEAD COUNTIES BOTH STILL HAVE THERE CHICKEN FARMS AND THOSE FOLKS ALL STILL HAVE LOTS OF ANIMALS,
THE STORE IN CROSSETT IS THE ONLY THING THERE, NO COMPETITION SO THEY CANT HELP BUT BE OK.

Eppinette's store has had a boon the last few days because of topix and facebook. I went in there saturday and heard three different people saying that it was their first time in there. One of them said they wanted to see what all the topix stuff was about. Like someone said in an earlier post, the controversy gets their name out there for free. (or something like that).

your right, Phil Eppinette is no fool, he is turning the excitement about the new Atwood store into something exciting about his store, I drive by there everday going to and from work, they have been smoking all week long,and I believe it is that facebook thing doing it for them.

I cannot say how, but I can say those prices are correct, Epp always seems to have a really good price in that floating feed.

The reason Eppinette is higher on corn than Henley is he buys his corn from Henley and has to charge more. I heard Eppinette got his electric cut off last week and Henley loaned him some generators so he could stay open. Also heard several Eppinette employees were down at the old KMart store looking it over.

exactly, the atwood thing was kind of like throwing a bag of lemons on eppinettes front porch, instead of eating those sour lemons, he immediatly started making lemonade out of them, good for him.

Actually, Atwoods moving in is like opening a Red Lobster in the same town that has a convenience store gas station that sells fried catfish. He has taken it a step further by completely embarrassing himself and his family by acting like a little girl and throwing temper tantrums on this site and Facebook. It's sad watching him go down in flames, taking his integrity with him.

Eppinnettes is a very solid business. I have been a customer since wildwood days.don't know who the guy on here doing all the bashing towards the Eppinnettes is but he should be ashamed of his self.
