Were they removing a tree downtown this morning?
Lets hope so. Trees should not be planted above or below utilities

The smart to do, and the most eye appealing thing is bury all the ugly wires..get rid of the poles. No matter how you try to make an area look good, the poles and wires ruin it..as for the trees. They are beautiful in the fall... they provide shade in the summer. The sidewalks can be fixed without cutting the trees.
As for the Masons...you do realize if the Masons had not come back to Big Eldo and put their time and money into the downtown square, it would be an abandoned piece of crap. Sure he can be a smartass, but, he is good at making money and making things happen.
Big Eldo will go more towards the toilet without their input....and no I don't really like them, I just know the truth.....

Silly me thought it was because of buying old buildings for a tax write off on his Gibralter business. Then getting government tax payers grant money to fix them up. Then make a bundle on the renters. That is smart.

You never get a 100 percent write off on your purchase and the grant money is a pittance compared to the money a person spends to refab and upkeep an old building, next theory please.

El Dorado downtown would be just fine without the Masons. Many a small business have started and failed in one of the Mason's buildings. They are smart in that they rent you the space and let someone else do the heavy work of trying to make a small business go. They do collect the parking fees from the city parking lot North of First Baptist and has anyone checked the books to see how this money was spent. He is now overhauling the old McKinney house but none of the funds is coming from him. The McKinney's left money to maintain the proeperty and it is certainly being spent but its not the Masons money. They wanted to save the 4-6 building but smarter minds prevailed and the ugly depreciated structure is now history.

Yep! He made a fool out of himself on that sisewalk project in front of the church for sure! He lashed out threatening the contractor and his employees! The contractor stood his ground with mr bigshot mason, and made a fool out of him! The contractor did a beautiful job on this sidewalk for the church in which he had a contract with the church to do the job! The contractor wasn't intimidated a bit by masons threats of a lawsuit!! Mason didn't get his way and resigned like a sore loser! Thats a hell of a place to lash out at with threats of a lawsuit THE HOUSE OF GOD OF ALL PLACES Mason would threaten with a law suit! Give credit where its due thats by far the BEST looking sidewalk in town bar none! Should have hired that contractor to do ALL the sidewalks down town! He lashed out at the church with threats of a lawsuit and look what happened! Too bad Lara has to pay the consequences! God works in mysterious ways mr mason! In all due respect you owe these people an apology for your actions! You a BIG SHOT BUT YOU CANT ALWAYS HAVE YOUR WAY! HAVE FEELINGS, AND CONSIDERATION FOR OTHERS FOR A CHANGE!
