Rememba The Good Old Days,... Grabbing a Taco at EL Taco Pronto? The toy department at Howard Brothers?, The Old Square downtown with the crosswalks, benches and fountain? The Sky View Drive In movie?, The little animals that used to come on every coke at the Sonic? The Old Hickory Skating Rink.

What are the things you miss most or wish had never left?

Any favorite memories?

Hey what about TG&Y store. I used to skate at Old Hickory Skating Rink. Trudie was the womans name that ran it. I miss the mall being full of stores. Wish it was full again. Gas is too high to have to go out of town to shop.

Wow you folks have brought back some good memories! I remember sitting on the TG&Y parking lot and the guys bragging about their cars. The Pizza Hut on E. Hillsboro was my favorite and the BBQ place out where Oriental Gardens is...can't remember the name but the food was great. The Old Hickory maybe? I remember McCroyes (sp) on the square, it was where I saw the first pay toilet I ever saw. I lived in LA at the time and some of us would come to ElDo on the weekends. We'd watch a movie then walk around the square and window shop. If you tried that now you'd probably get shot or get your throat cut. Very sad.

I remember an upscale men's clothing store on the square, a mall full of stores, family owned restaurants. I remember being able to leave the front door open in the spring and fall: now the scum will try and walk in. I remember leaving ice chests in the driveway to dry: now the scum will stop and pick them up. I remember my neighborhood being all owned with nice yards. Now the renters park all over the front yards. I remember Con Agra, now Pilgrims pride has to threaten the workers just to get them to work. I remember being a part of the community. Now I am glad I got the hell out of that crap-hole!
