Go to the Eldoark.com website and look at the restaurant section of the business directory. El Chico and Ryan's ares still listed. I didn't bother to look at the others. Ryan's has been closed for a while now but El Chico has been gone for years. I think they refuse to update because they think out of towners will look at the website and see fewer things if they did. Its not like people from places other than Camden and Magnolia (and the tiny towns in between) travel here so I don't get it.

So you think someone strategically decided to leave closed restaurants on the list? It's more likely that nobody is in charge of updating the list. That website is privately owned, and is not run by the city.

That site is from the 1990's. That's why they don't update it much. Having those businesses listed there makes the site look more modern. LOL!

That is nuts, pilgrims pride closed because of a greedy owner that got his tit caught in the ringer trying to prove he was bigger than he was ..... I have not said that atwoods is responsible for anyone closing, just have said we have all the retail that this town can support and we did not need atwoods, but there here now and are already crying about the lack of sales in south central arkansas, and I also understand the camden store will close at lease end, south central arkansas has no agriculture, not sure what atwoods was thinking, they better sell a bunch of hard candy and sasparillo's if they stay here.

You are the dumbass that thinks every local business closes because you don't have enough pie to eat. Your misinformed views of the local demands is why you work for someone else. Atwoods didn't get to where they are today by listening to losers like you.

Coming from someone that doesn't know the difference between "there" and "they're." Maybe you shouldn't be a judge of others' "smarts."

Or maybe that was part of their plan. Maybe they realized they should have been in El Dorado all along, and that now is the right time to close the Camden store. And do you know why? Because people will drive a half hour to go to atwoods! They grow your pie!

We already know this is true. People from El Dorado have been driving to Camden and Magnolia just to shop at atwoods for years!

So some of those people in Camden may be spending their money in El Dorado. They may even eat or buy gas here. We will have some money in the area we didn't have before.

I don't but that, they just made a bad choice, and what I am hearing is they think they made another bad choice in Eldo, they say (local employees) that the home office is not happy with sales volume in south cental arkansas,, it does not take a brain scientist to realize that there is no agriculture in this part of the state..........just look around you we have no JOHN DEERE TRACTOR dealers here for a reason, while Magnolia , Hope, texarkana , nashville all have john deere dealers, new holland dealers, kabota dealers........there is a market over there, not here.....ATWOODS failed to do there home work in south cental ark.

Who cares? Say you're 100% right. Why do you feel like you should come online to anonymously bash their decision?

You heard wrong. Atwoods moved here because the demand is here. There is a demand that was not currentlybeing met. Also, it has been evident for a while that most of their Camden business came from El Dorado. John Deere is not here because people will drive to Magnolia, and, with SAU there, they locate to where it is convenient for their larger customer base. Just like atwoods is doing now. Your ignorance of the agriculture/animal product industry still does not deter you from spreading lies. When are you going to stop?
