<quoted text> People leave El Dorado because of the "negative people". Hahahahahahaha! Yeah right. They leave because there are other places with SO much more to offer. Like industrial jobs, better education, better prices on housing, 4 year colleges, outdoor activities that don't center around fishing or shooting something, better weather, better food, better (meaning less corrupt) town officials, people that recognize their town's faults and don't vehemently deny any problems exist at all (therefore never changing or solving any problems), a population that isn't declining by the day.... I could go on but there's really no point in trying to make a moron see reason. Comments like this are just more proof of how people will deny the problems therefore never solving them. That mentality is part of El Dorado's poison and also why it won't change. The people that get passionate about really changing anything get a door in the face every time by people who want to pretend they're just "negative" and making it up. Don't worry "Really", that is "really fucking crazy", most of us who realize this town will never change tend to leave sooner than later. After all, over 12 percent (yes, 12% just look it up) of us already have, just in the last decade!
Your perception of "better" makes your entire argument opinion and argumentative; therefore, holding no value. Many people may agree with your opinion, but many (including myself) would disagree. I believe El Dorado has the best qualities of your "environmental needs" than anywhere else you look.

Yes, exactly. Our area's rolling hills and scaling mountains are well renowned!

Which "environmental needs" are you referring to? Seems like all of the chemical companies around here have a big effect on that and everything else.

Until nobody spends a single dollar shopping out of town, that pie you keep talking about is invalid. The more options we have, the more likely people will spend money here and the more likely people will come visit from elsewhere.
HaHa....We needed some model glue for our grandson and went everywhere in ElDorado....there is NO model glue in ElDorado and we had to make a special trip to Monroe to get it. So, please, don't talk to me about "shopping locally"....that is only one small example of what we cannot get in ElDorado.

Definitely a small example because there are so many things that our family has to get online its not even funny. Our next door neighbor has a boy with autism and his doctor recommended a gluten-free diet, which has helped him tremendously; they have to order almost everything online or like you said, make special trips to Monroe. Its detestable. They have actually talked about moving just so they can go to the grocery store for their son. I understand that we are a small town that can't offer everything. Its a part of life here. But what I don't want to hear are these buffoonish lies about how El Dorado has 'everything anyone needs'.

"Environmental needs" was directed at personalproblems and had no reference to our industrial segment. Please try and keep up.

You are mistaken. It does. Doesn't take much to realize that or comprehend the correlation. Sounds like you're the one that needs to keep up. No worries. If you're from this area we understand that's why you're slow.

Hey, dumbass. Stop, collaborate, and listen. I made the reference of "environmental needs." So, I can direct the reference as I see fit. And it was not to local industry. Your lack of expansive identification shows your limited educational background. So, continue to read and follow along, and remember: "less is more."

Thank you Topix stalker, for letting us know that you have a new ip added to your list of locations. Besides WA and CT, you now post from Austin as well. Way to go.

Aren't we all Topix stalkers? And no, I've never been to Washington nor Connecticut, and its been a few years since Austin. I'm afraid you have me confused with someone else.

Btw, I don't think being a frequent poster makes you crazy, it just makes you obvious. Posting every time someone mentions the word "Epinete" or "Atwoods" is a little nuts though.

Can anyone make a list of all the retail businesses or restaurants that have gone out of business in the last three years? Not businesses you THINK will go, but ones that actually have already?

I have live all over the country and I can tell you this - everything is what you make it. Don't like the food around here?!? Guess what open a Resturant that serves food you like - it is feasible trust me! We see the affects of corruption/economical issues quickly due to the population size and obviously demographic. There is plenty of room for people that are willing to work! So try not running your mouth and just get off your butt! You might live longer.
