It just blows my mind why Murphy Oil is trying to destroy Mystic Creek. Why would you want to stop progress into the community? People from all over the region are coming to play this course. When was the last time someone traveled to play the Country Club course? The food isn't that good and the course is very boring with all of the parallel holes.

It blows my kind how you can equate supporting the country club with destroying Mystic Creek. The Country Club has not only a golf course but a pro shop, restaurant, several bars, tennis courts and a pool with a snack bar. Mystic Creek doesn't have any of those things. They're obviously aimed at a different market.

Besides, If MC has so many people coming from around the region to play, why would Murphy's actions destroy it?

Are you serious? The amount of money that Murphy has is disposal is something that neither one of us can fathom. Why would Murphy dump money into the CC and the Lions Club but not Mystic? Why would Murphy pay for memberships only to the CC but not Mystic? Why donít you ask all of the housing development at Mystic why it took so long to get the basic utilities out there? Would it blow your mind if everyone told you that Murphy paid off companies to delay construction out there?

So if you can tell me how they are showing any support to Mystic in the least bit, I will gladly withdraw my previous statements.

You are an idiot. They couldn't get basic utilities out there because they built out in the boonies, and expected the city and county to just pick up the tab for everything.

You're right. I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm not quoting about 5 people that told me that. No one told me that they weren't building on the lot that they bought because they couldn't get the utilities out there.

How hard could it be to run electric lines? It is not the boonies, there are houses all down 335. It is only 1/2 mile from the highway. It wouldn't take a couple years to run the lines...

Let me put this into perspective for you. They are willing to pay for the following:
*Truck sand in from north Arkansas
*Sod the entire course
*Plant flower beds all over the course
*Concrete cart paths
*Brick around all water hazards

They will pay for all of that, but they are too cheap to pay for the electic lines to be laid? That makes zero sense.

Do you have ANY idea how much it costs to run electric lines? More than all of those other things combined. And then the electric company has maintenance costs on all the new infrastructure. If they don't think they're going to earn enough new customers to pay for all that construction and maintenance, do you think they're going to jump up and start building just because someone asks them to?

Yes actually I do know how much it is. I also know for a fact how much Mr. Parks and his investors have put into that golf course/housing additions. I will tell you with 100% confidence that they have spend more on buying the land, cutting the trees, dirt work, etc. than it costed to put in power lines.

The bottom line is no matter what you say, you will never be able to change my mind about what Murphy has done slow down progress. The fact is Old Money controls this community. If you have the right last name, you can get anything you want.

It doesn't matter if they spent $500 million doing all that work. If there's no business case for Entergy to run the lines, they won't do it. And that's smart business.

You are all petty, jealous idiots. The original poster is just upset because they will never be able to afford a CC membership.

The rest of you would be complaining of Murphy bought membership to Mystic Creek instead of Country Club for their managers.

Get a life and worry about your own.

So if there's no business case, why did they end up runnin lines? Why are there so many houses out there already and so many more being built?

You're right John. It's shitty. No houses are up. No new foundations have been laid. Everyone needs to stay at the country club with the amazing food, huge selection at the pro shop, awesome course, and beautiful buildings. We don't need anything new in this town, keep it the exact same!!!

No, Yay, you don't get it. We can have both. You think supporting the Country Club means trying to destroy Mystic Creek. Do you think Murphy was trying to encourage their managers to play golf? Or perhaps they were trying to also give them a more private place to dine, swim and play tennis while giving the Country Club a boost in the arm. They couldn't have given that to Mystic Creek if they had wanted to, BECAUSE MYSTIC CREEK DOESN'T HAVE THOSE THINGS!

Personally I like Mystic Creek, and I hope they can make it financially. But attitudes like yours are turning people off to the whole thing.

All I'm saying is, Murphy already had a corporate account at the club. They bought them personal memberships. Mystic is trying to build more for members, but they need more funding

Actually, I just hope the Racquet Club is still open next summer. I know they are in a financial mess and the few members that are left are sick of it. It could/should be a great fun place, if it had appropriate leadership!
