Now that the Pine Tree and former White Hall Court motels are in demolition, they might take another run at it as they won't have to stop and allow crack hos to board and ride to the center to work the conventions of drunk and drugged public school teacher conventioneers from dry counties.

Even though Mr. Robert Edmonds was quoted in the paper as saying he was prepared to assume management of the El Dorado water and sewer systems in addition to his other responsibilities, if the Council follows the Wimberley plan and takes water and sewer back, and if key, senior El Dorado Water Utilities employees who either know where the bodies are buried or how to make water and sewage flow as well as they do choose to retire, the city management may be spread too thin to run a rubber tired trolley system.

Yancy Kyle is not as gay as you think. He was in a play a while back, and met a healthy young lady, or so I hear...(from the lady)...Then you have Mark "soul patch" Givins all up in the mix also. Don't even get me started about what Eldomasterblaster said about the state of downtown ElDorado when it came up over coctails.

KELD is broadcasting that Mayor Frank Hash will tonight ask the council members for feedback about the idea of the city buying a trolley.

If the city politicians had not broken the law and acquired the appropriate amount of onsite land for parking--- there would not be a need for transporting guests. In the long run the amount of annual operating fees that it will cost to run a trolley could be used for a one time purchase of a parking lot.

Oh gay Ellen, no laws were broken and there's plenty of parking by or near the conference center, you silly goose.

But very little of that parking is under the control of the Conference Center. it is not guaranteed to be available.

Build it and they will come.
Who cares if they can't park within walking distance.
They need the exercise

AMD neither is the parking lot spaces at the conference center. It's called a "crowd." That's what occurs when events are held there.

You should not use public funds to build a hotel that competes against privately owned hotels. Privately owned hotels must be making a profit to stay open whereas a hotel supported by taxpayers doesn't care if they ever operate with a profit or surplus. They can just keep feeding it taxpayers dollars.
As said so many times, the conference center is unfinished because it does not have adequate ample parking. A trolley is an expensive way to correct a mistake that was made by not providing attendees with on-site parking. Acquire the land- build a parking lot- and be done with the cost. A trolley will be an everlasting cost to the conference center.
Very well stated.

Land seizure never stopped anybody before. Take the properties south of the conference center and level them for a parking lot.

The flat area along S. Washington ( with no sidewalk ) could provide parking spaces though I remember the Masons were pushing for green space.

I'd put this advice at the top of the list- however I wish you would have said this before the dirt was turned and $18 million dollars was spent. As you or someone has said, Brookshires, Wal-Mart and EHS were built with adequate convenient on-site parking. Sam Walton said if you limit your parking you limit your business (customers)

Actually it wasn't well stated at all. The trolley won't cost the conference center a penny.
