This is sad that people think like u do. I'm a black man that's not supporting Benito because I don't think he's qualified, but what u are talking about is foolish! So we don't have a right to vote now? It's a good thing that your kind is dying out and their is a new generation that doesn't see color, but the saddest thing about this is I bet u call yourself a Christian.

No dick your kind has every right to vote but you know as well as I do that presidential election wasn't completly about political views it was mainly about finally getting a black man in office, I can still remember the stupid-ass chanting at work that morning "WE GONNA TURN THE WHITE HOUSE BLACK" over and over! You are probably right about my kind dying out and whats funny is that doesn't sound so bad, hopefully I'll be gone before this country turns into a complete jungle. I hope you really believe that I am truly sorry for hurting your feelings. Fukstik don't give a shit about your feelings dick.

As someone who is from the younger generation, I would only partially agree we are becoming color blind.

Fact of the matter is, I really don't care what your skin color is. To me it's mainly about how you handle yourself.

Do you dress like an idiot, or do you dress with some sense of class?

Do you walk like a thug, or do you walk upright with your shoulders back, like most people.

Do you speak with a lot of slang while cussing every other word, or do you mind your speech and make an effort to use proper grammar and pronunciation?

To my generation, it's not so much about skin color as it is culture. Sadly, most black people my age make themselves look like fools on a regular basis, simply because they choose to dress/walk/talk like thugs. There are a fair amount of white people who are like this as well, and they are shunned, just as they should be.

Some of my favorite political theorists are black. I have immense respect for people who choose to act professional, regardless of skin color. Like these men, if you want to stick out, stick out by demonstrating how good you are at something or how intelligent you are, not by demonstrating how much of a moron you are.

I don't really discount Mr. Glosson for his lack of professionalism, because his in his public persona, he makes an effort to be professional. I think his proposed policies for this town are incorrect. I think he has no education in economics or legitimate business. This was demonstrated last night at the forum when he stated something like "It's not all about the private sector, it's not about all these rich people". Really? It's not? Who creates the jobs then Mr. Glosson? I guess he thinks government does, or that the city's budget should be used to pay some sort of unemployment benefit for people that don't even make an effort in life.

Reading this nonsense reminds me of why I left El Dorado and seldom visit. When will you people ever raise your game? El Dorado is one of the most socially and economically depressed cities in the country, yet you waste precious time in this type of ignorant discourse. If you don't support any candidate, that is fine, but keep your comments humane and civil. Rather than your silly racial innuendos, why not focus on relevant considerations like experience, capability, positions on the issues, etc. But then, that would required critical thinking skills and a vocabulary.

I'm glad you left El Dorado, Sharon. Trolls like you that dig up 2 month old threads just to criticize the comments need to learn new tactics.
Personally, I think the thread is funny, and the fact you wrote such a long post about such an old thread from a town you "used to" live in just shows us that you still haven't found anything productive to do with your life since you moved away. At least I admit I have nothing productive to do before I go back to school rofl.
. I don't think negros should be able to work in places where u have to make important decisions ! It's because they are all ignorant monkeys. Oh. Ooooo! Ugh.! Ugh !

I do live in El Dorado, and I did follow Benito's campaign, so I do know that people on here are if kinda silly taking punches at him because he himself used a racial platform, actually stating at one time that the African American population of El Dorado would do much better if he were mayor. This and the fact that he did illegally sell bootleg movies and music in a big open way here and really make Kentucky Fried Chicken employees mad because he would go in for lunch and clean out the food bar of chicken. What we do not need here is boss hogg pushing his own agenda. I am not against ALL people here and elsewhere learning to live happily together and working together with all their talents to make this a thriving area again. I don't care what race our mayor is as long as he see's all the city as his responsibility. I do think that using words you learned in college is good, it should not go to waste, but you will reach the masses better if you are not high handed. As for Sharon well you said you used to live here. How did you feel when people cut you or your town down? Topix, while some use it for silly behavior is a great thing in a town that loves to persecute people who do not agree with their ideas. We need a place to put our feelings about what is going on here without being punished for it. That is how towns grow and get more productive, people putting their ideas out and working to make a place good for all.
