Reading this nonsense reminds me of why I left El Dorado and seldom visit. When will you people ever raise your game? El Dorado is one of the most socially and economically depressed cities in the country, yet you waste precious time in this type of ignorant discourse. If you don't support any candidate, that is fine, but keep your comments humane and civil. Rather than your silly racial innuendos, why not focus on relevant considerations like experience, capability, positions on the issues, etc. But then, that would required critical thinking skills and a vocabulary.

I'm glad you left El Dorado, Sharon. Trolls like you that dig up 2 month old threads just to criticize the comments need to learn new tactics.

Personally, I think the thread is funny, and the fact you wrote such a long post about such an old thread from a town you "used to" live in just shows us that you still haven't found anything productive to do with your life since you moved away. At least I admit I have nothing productive to do before I go back to school rofl.

It's understandable that someone like you would extrapolate(Look it up.)from your own pathetic existance to form the assumption that all other life experiences are as miserable as your own. If you consider six sentences "such a long post," you might want to rethink that "back to school" thing. Eighth grade is even tougher the second time around, or so I'm told.

I'm glad to see that someone who comes to the defense of Benito no longer lives in El Dorado. That's one down, many more to go.... Even the NAACP didn't want him at their rally LOL. And another thing- why is it when a bunch of black people get together to promote their own race, it's considered O.K.?? If the KKK did that, Jessie Jackson's phone would be ringing off the hook.

For the record, I am not an advocate for Mr. Glosson; I don't know him, I only know of him; and I don't have a vested interest nor do I participate in El Dorado politics. That said, I would never vote for nor against anyone based on racial stereotypes or similar rhetoric. I endorse or reject candidates based on their platforms, and whether or not I feel they possess the requisite experience and qualifications for the position to which they aspire. My intent was not to defend Mr. Glosson as I don't have knowledge of anything against which he needs defending. My posts were made to criticize the (unnecessarily) incendiary nature of remarks laden with racial undertones and innuendo, full stop. Understandably, those who find it too daunting a task to construct a valid, cohesive argument based on fact and mature reasoning, often resort to juvenile emotional diatribes such as those you are apparently sanctioning. I have no dog in this fight.

Great post "Left the Bldg"! I wholeheartedly agree. But I am afraid you lost 99% of the people who read this topic by using an actual vocabulary. So with that in mind, let me translate for my "wife beater t-shirt" wearing readers out there....

He don't have nuthin agin Mr Glosson running for mayor. He not care if he be white or black long as he can do the job, and he aint gonna argue with ya if you be ignurt bout it.

How's that?

As per the original quote: "experience, capability, positions on the issues, etc." Benito has no experience (other than selling burnt CDs and tapes), no capability (his grammar is worse than mine), and no position on the issues (other than '2010 We Gonna Win'). What he does have is an irrational mindset that the black voter should vote for him because he is also black. He uses quotes like "Change we can believe in", I assume to equate himself with a half-black president.
