30 !! whoo hoo, that really offsets the 1600 lost at pilgrims, and yes I know for a fact Atwoods got special treatment on that building, I will not be the one to divulge my sources, but I know the facts.and yes the city fathers kissed atwoods azz for 2 years before they signed on, even knowing it would hurt others, they could care less.
Wow. So you don't want 30 new jobs?

So you won't divulge your sources. No problem there. But You could still tell us what the city did to help atwoods. So tell us!

WOW. So now you're equating minimum wage jobs at a business you say shut its doors at the first sign of competition to manufacturing jobs paying $40K and more?

no Iam saying we need more factory jobs at 40k a year, 30 is just not very exciting, and I am also saying untill we get a lot more of those factory jobs we do not need more low wage retail jobs to come in here and put out (replace) other retail jobs,,,, try to get this thru your thick head, there is only one pie in this town, you can only slice it so many times, untill that pie gets much bigger than it is right now put your butcher knive up.

Retail is the bottom of the employment chain. And Pilgrims didn't employ 1600. More like 800. And pur local workforce has grown over 1500 in the past 3 years.

So 30 high-paying factory jobs isn't exciting, but you're all worked up about a Chinese restaurant that you think is closing?

that shows what you really know,..... 800 the first layoff, then another 800 at shut down, try to keep up.......and if you think there has been 1500 jobs added (new) in the past 3 years then your an idiot.

Tell me again how you think 30 restaurant jobs are more important than 30 manufacturing jobs.

The only businesses making money in ElDorado are utility companies, cheap fast food, cheap auto parts stores and pawn shops..What does this tell you about the people in ElDorado!!BROKE!!..There is no quality here, which forces the people with money to take it out of town and I don't blame them..simple as that....Too many broke folks just working the system... Big business will never come to ElDorado because of our failed business track record....FROM CITY TO TOWN TO ?

Not true. You're all up in arms about a restaurant that may or may not be closing but 30 high-paying jobs mean nothing to you.

Wrong. That was 400 and 400. You quit commenting about things you obviously don't know anything about. You confuse people that way. And I don't think 1500 New jobs have been added. That is what has been reported.

Yes you did. You've been mocking the Thermaflite jobs, while saying Atwoods and Buffett Palace have closed the 15 year establishment.

You know, Oriental Gardens has been in El Dorado much longer, is closer to Buffett Palace, and has survived all of them (even the life of New Century). As New Century looks for a new location in El Dorado, please keep in mind that your selective perceptions are flat out bullshit.

Do you realize Murphy Oil AMD Septic Timber are publicly traded? Amercable pulled in a profit of $275 million last year? Lion Oil's company has tripled? Even local stores are expanding? Do you realize all these facts can be easily found to contradict your fabrication?

Broke people can be found everywhere. However, there are many people making a great living in El Dorado. This is evident, along with many young people moving back here to live. Big businesses are still moving here. Thermaflite, Atwoods, now TJ Maxx. Not to mention how many countless restaurants, specialty services, and established large business expansions. Just because you're broke doesn't mean everyone else is.

I m saying the city fathers milked the thermoflite thing for all it was worth because that is all they had to hang there hat on, not saying we did not despertly need the 30 jobs, just saying it is small potatoes in regard to what we have lost, I AM just tired of the hi-fives they give each other over not much of nothing..........and I never said atwoods had anything to do with new century closing, I did say that the new china buffet is the reason new century IS CLOSING, the pie just was not big enough for yet another china buffet.........the numbers just don't crunch.........now with atwoods they will be responsibe for the future ill effects on Henleys and Eppinett's........sit back and watch.
