Atwoods is actually cheaper than some of the other price gougers here in town. That's why such a fuss was made about them moving here.

Let's get back to the topic of pat's Glass. There is a parking problem for much of downtown El Dorado and this location is no exception. Workers are parking in the 3 hour zone leaving guests with little to no convenient parking. In regard to downtown El dorado, El dorado festivals wants to eliminate the remaining parking spaces in the Oil Park that are very convenient to those customers going downtown looking for convenient parking. Instead of the parking they are proposing public restrooms. Doesn't the Court House have Public Restrooms? These proposed restrooms will be destroyed in time just like the nes at Mellor park. The City finally took a backhoe to them and they are completely gone. El Dorado Festivals is also wanting to eliminate the parking on the East side of the Rialto-Jefferson Street. Since many local businesses have come and gone downtown over the years it seems this parking problem would be priority #1.

There is no parking problem downtown. The problem is people thinking they have to park right in front of their destination. And do you seriously want the entire music rest crowd in the courthouse using those restaurants?

By the way, another part of the plan downtown is a parking structure. So there will be a net gain in parking spaces.

Quit crying.

I have been a customer of several businesses that were located downtown and a common denominator for the closing of their business was lack of convenient parking. A parking deck might help but it depends on where it is located (closeness)and how attractive or unattractive it might be. Most people would prefer surface parking. Also, if you need public restrooms use the ones that are already in the public courthouse-- that is a very central location. Any public restrooms will be subject to vandalism. In the past individuals have used the telephone booths -now bookcases- as portable johns.

There is plenty of convenient parking downtown. Plus, the ticket Nazi does keep everything moving along. Bust goes your theory as your theory goes bust.

I agree with what you say, but lets both hope that correct decisions are made before more tax dollars are spent.

And I think it's quite a coincidence that shortly after Eppinettes opened Music Mart went out of business.I think people started blowing money on cowboy boots, hats and sparkly belts instead of stereo equipment.

I agree with what you say. Let's just hope these delusional clowns that want to park their fatass right next to the door of the store they're trying to get to keep their nonsense to themselves.

There is plenty of parking everywhere downtown! Maybe when the new 40 million theatre complex is running full steam by fall of 2014 we will need more, but we don't need more parking.

Pat's Glass is closing because they have reached retirement age and WANT to retire. They have had many good years (25) in that location and appreciate all of their customers. Thank you El Dorado.
