What about the article in the paper? Should his business be allowed to bid and do work when he is head the board? Seems like a huge comflict of interest. Does anyone actually beleive he is doing it for the community? Was that why he got a city street closed? The price gouging during ice storms is good for the community too.

All business's refrain from bidding if they are connected to the job somehow. Not a good idea anytime.

Any one on a board or commission should not be in position to accept purchases from the business he works for. This is definitely a conflict of interest and Blackman should resign immediately for all concerned. Why didn't the other commissioners do their job and do the only correct action. If Blackman wants to sell goods or services to the baseball complex he needs to resign from the commission. What a screwed up mess that is going on.

Why would he resign? Just because he is selling supplies to the complex, come on man! Everyone knows he owns the lumber store and runs the complex board. No big mystery here! The conflict is when you do not disclose such information and try to cover it up.

I really don't think he meant any harm. He is basically a good person, just doesn't surround himself with the brightest bulbs in the pack. If he did, he wouldn't be in this mess.
