Joe was standing on the subway platform when a copycat insane person pushed him in front of a speeding train. Mayor Bloomberg immediately called for more gun control laws.

Republicans have pushed to keep the tax cuts for everyone.
Your 2012 Tax Bill Will Be Huge As many as 28 million Americans are about to be slammed with the alternative minimum tax because a "patch" to adjust the AMT for inflation will not go into effect unless Congress acts. For middle-class households with kids and earning around $75,000, the AMT will add $3,700 on average to the tax bill for 2012 alone.
Your Paycheck Will Be Smaller The first paycheck of the year is going to be smaller for up to 125 million Americans after the Social Security payroll tax holiday expires on Dec. 31, raising the rate from 4.2 to 6.2 percent.
Your Tax Refund Will Be Delayed The Internal Revenue Service has said that without a deal by Dec. 31, tax refunds could be delayed for as many as 100 million taxpayers as the government agency scrambles to revise tax forms to reflect the changes post-cliff.
Your Kids Will Cost You More Money Among the tax credits that expire on Dec. 31 are several that help lower- and middle-income families with kids, including the Child Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit, Child and Dependent Care Credit, and the American Opportunity Credit. All four revert to lower levels on Jan. 1, which could cost families hundreds to thousands of dollars in lost tax credits, according to CNN Money.
You Cannot Collect Extended Unemployment As many 2 million unemployed Americans won’t be able to collect extended benefits after Jan. 1, when the federal government’s unemployment extension ends as part of automatic spending cuts.
Your Stocks Could Wobble The stock market tumbled on Thursday after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said it looked like the the country was going to go over the fiscal cliff. Uncertainty over taxes could create more market volatility, experts say, but there is a silver lining: The Fed has promised to keep interest rates low for the next year, and that could help stabilize the economy overall.
If You Use Medicare, It Will Be Harder To Find A Doctor One of the spending cuts that will be enacted on Jan. 1 is a 30 percent reduction in the rates Medicare pays doctors. According to physicians' groups, the pending change has already sent doctors fleeing some health care plans, Forbes reported.
Finding A New Job Will Be More Difficult Mandatory spending cuts slated to start on Jan. 1 will cut into government jobs and jobs dependent on federal contracts. One report from George Mason University estimated that the cuts could cost 2.14 million jobs, the Christian Science Monitor reported.
High Earners Will Pay New Taxes For Obamacare High-earning taxpayers will pay a new 3.8 percent tax hike on net investment income, including income from interest, dividends, capital gains, rental and royalty income. Much of that same income group is also subject to a new .9 percent increase in Medicare taxes. These tax hikes are part of the Affordable Care Act and go into effect on Jan. 1.
WHAT?! This can't be. Most of the things you listed will affect the middle and lower class as well as the wealthy. Obama said that taxes would stay the same for those making under $250,000. He didn't lie........Or did he?

What's worse is that I think that those who support the socialistic agenda of today's democratic party would rather have all of their money stolen by the government and starve to death than to see conservative principles bring us out of despair and into prosperity. In other words, they would rather look good losing than look bad winning.

It's all about self esteem. The left thinks that these little ceremonies and self esteem ads will be able to overcome the laziness that the govenment itself has instilled in our youth by making them dependent. Of course it neve does but once the youth get hooked on government dependency, it's hard to bring them back.

The USA Congress ... incompetents working so very hard to accomplish nothing. You cannot count on Congress to do anything but fill their pockets, improve their future retirement pensions and healthcare benefits, and leave Congress far wealthier than when they entered, which is exactly what Congress does best.

Most in Congress are millionaires or multimillionaires. Sure, they're also busy thinking about the middle class ... NOT AT ALL. They will willingly tank the economy once again, which will be the second time since 2001-08, because they know it will put an end to both SocSec and Medicare, and they also know that the wealthiest will survive it ... while the middle class will disappear. Congress approves.

If this weren't true, Congress would have long ago reached agreements on moving the country forward, but Congress is not interested in helping the entire population, but rather just certain segments of it.

When you and your constitutes learn that the purpose of government is not to adopt certain principles reflecting one side vs the other, but only to govern the whole, then maybe we can get back to the business of making America work again.

The worst calamity that could befall us this past four decades was provided by none other than Jerry Falwell and the Moral Majority. Turned Christian against Christian and opened the door for extremest elements on the Far Right.

It's amazing what a few con men (Falwell, Murdoch, Limbaugh) can accomplish when handed the keys to the kingdom by a gullible public.

That's not the point Redd. Broken tax promises on people, many of which, can't afford it. How it was sold, how it's going to be delivered, and who will ultimately shoulder the blame is where I have a problem with this whole scenario. The very person that made the promises will be the same person who is ultimately responsible for the tax hikes and is also the person that will come away from this relatively unscathed. That person is Obama and the sheep will never figure it out. They will just keep rooting him on all the way down to the bottom never realizing that it was Obama that struck the deadly blow to America with his socialistic agenda.

Do you mean the principles set forth in the Constitution and Bill of Rights? Those are the principles that this country was founded on and those are also the principles that Obama is throwing in the trash. What Obama is trying to do is take America back to the form of government our founders left in Great Brittain. Should we all have to suffer for the sake of a few? That is how socialism works. Our founding documents paved the way to capitlaism where everyone has a chance to succeed. If they don't then it's certainly not because they didn't have the opportunity. Bad things happen to good people but you can't blame every bad thing that happens on capitalism and that is exactly what the democratic party is doing. There is no more gullible public than the public that supports a socialistic government.

It's quite apparent that some of you don't think you now have the chance to succeed in America, funny that so many seem to be doing quite well. If you've paid attention, got a education, determine to make a place for yourself and your family, work your ass off, save a few bucks and become flexible to relocating if needed, there's no reason to think you can't live the American dream.

It's still there, and if a dumb-ass like myself can see it, so should most of you..

Actually, General Schwarzkopf didn't like the name Herbert nor the nickname Stormin Norman. He preferred "Bear". I probably shouldn't have called him fat but it appeared to me that he didn't meet the Army's weight control standards that caused a lot of good soldiers to be booted out just before retiring. Schwarz means black in German and kopf means head. I served in Vietnam about the time he did but I wasn't the hero that he was. I also served under his command in Southwest Asia during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I just did my small part but I'm proud to be a retired soldier. Now Dumbkopf, you go ahead and wrap yourself in your Americana flag and continue to attack me.

I don't know if you have ever owned your own business but I can tell you that business owners are not as wealthy as most Americans believe. The "profits" a business is taxed on is not the number in the checkbook and for most businesses it's very hard to scrape up enough money to pay the taxes the government says you should pay. So with the new taxes coming down the pike reguardless of whether or not we go over the cliff, it will be significantly more difficult for the "average" American to reach prosperity. Your point about Americans doing quite well is spot on when comparing it to the rest of the world but not by American standards which is what every American compares themselves to. The world standards is as good of an argument for staying away from socialism as there is. There is no better financial structure than capitalism so you make a great point even if you may not have meant to.
