Your right. Obama and his administration have pushed most of the middle class down into the lower class. This has created a two class system where the gap between the lower and upper class is far too great for most of the lower to ever get to the upper. Now people like Barney who ignore things like unemployment data manipulation from this administration will ignore Obama's dishonesty and throw out statistics that tell a different story. But we can look around and see the result of Obama's presidency on full display regardless of what the liberal progressives say.
Which class are you in, upper or lower?

I think you misquoted that $900 deductible, if not, that's pretty inexpensive. Five years ago my company supported healthcare still cost me a $764 a month with a $1000 deductible.

If you're truly lower income working class, how does it behoove you to support a political party determined to destroy Social Security and Medicare...and if you erroneously think the Republican plan to replace Social Security with their privatization plan is the way to go, you might as well start sending your money to Jim and Tammy Faye.

Never understood how a poor man could vote like a rich man....but in reality I know why,,,,most have always let others with which they they seemingly identify, or in most part want to identify, do their thinking. You haven't began to see the hard times coming you way when Republicans finally control your life.

Welcome to the Hunger Games.

Never mind that it is no longer required of the wealthiest Americans to actually care about employing the the lower classes to help them make a profit at whatever endeavor they control, they are now richer than ever from Republican tax breaks and overseas investment.

Convenient of you to blame others for the complete failure your masters have helped bring America.

Let us pray,
Oh Great poobah, Allah,(insert your title here)
Save us from the men in Washington !
We are powerless!
Our political system is at a stalemate, we have given free rein to a Congress that is out of control.
Our nation is living on credit that is strangling any hope of recovery.
The common man cannot be heard for the din of corruption.
If and when we quit praying and do something about our problem,
How about inspiration ?

No masters here. I find it odd that you support those who want to raise up the poor by stealing from other people while you demonize those being stolen from for not allowing their employees to make a profit. I have never seen an employee risk capital into a company so they can make a profit from their own money. I guess you want the perceived rich to be stolen from by the government on one end and willingly give up whatever they have left on the other end to support those who 95% could support themselves if they wanted to. Where business owners get mad is that the 95% could work but don't want to because they might have to start at the bottom somewhere and work their way up just like 95% of all successful people did. They simply want to walk to the mailbox and pick up their free check. I don't see how someone such as yourself and Barney can't see that especially since you guys are both military and you know how hard you have to work to succeed at anything. How you lose that is beyond me.

You assume too much, something obviously has to be done to bring our Welfare State under control, that's a given..no question. Medicare and Social Security don't fall under my definition of welfare since most of us have, in good faith, paid in what the government has required.

I personally could care less what or how a person spends their money, envy is not in my vocabulary, all I've ever really cared about is the security and welfare of my family..which includes their right to conduct themselves as they see fit, within the law. Republicans represent a threat to those rights...and I can't understand any red blooded American not understanding the purpose of founding of this great nation and the obstacles facing those great men and the freedom they sought.

While many think returning to a simpler time is the answer, nothing could be further from reality. I think it's almost an impossible task, at this point, to ever again dominate our modern world, we must progress or be left to a very uncertain future.

You talk about SS and Medicare. I'm sure you know that your SS and Medicare checks are supplied by the payroll taxes paid in by companies in business today and their employees. Knowing that, surly you understand that today's declining workforce numbers puts an enormous strain on the viability of those programs. Combine the declining workforce numbers with record numbers getting on welfare and similar programs, which also have to come out of the pockets of today's working class, and you end up where we are today. I'm not sure what you mean by your family conducting themselves as they see fit but I hope it doesn't mean that you would support a family member that could work but would choose not to because welfare benefits add up to enough to stay alive without working. Look, I'm a guy that wants to help those in need as much as anyone but when I see those that could work but won't, I have very little desire to give them anything free. I would be more than happy to help them help themselves but I won't GIVE them anything. Now those that have had circumstances fall on them that has caused them to not be able to help themselves, I am more than willing to give them the help they need. I simply don't see the mechanism in the liberal Democrat ideology that encourages citizens to help themselves but I do see a lot of Democrats encouraging citizens to fight for their right to be able to get their fair share of someone else's earnings and that bothers me.

As for the founding of this country, you do understand that our founders were fighting to get away from a government like the one Obama is trying to put in place today? If you don't then you have gotten the wrong information.

Unfortunately, you and I will never understand one another...and that's OK. Your definition of the ails that hound Medicare, the Nation, ignores the reasons leading up to this disaster. And why shouldn't you, you're a Republican, any legislation supporting big business and the top 10% passed in the past is good for America....to hell with less connected Americans.

Is there now not, here in America, a growing similarity between the ruling classes in Europe and the disadvantages they presented, that drove huge masses of immigrants away from the Old World to the New? Too bad there's no new frontier available to lay waste to, to royally screw up.

But it's all the Democrats fault..Right?...more so Obama Right?

I would hate to end up in a Republican Heaven...hope there's one available to the rest of us blood suckers.

Not a Republican. I'm a conservative independent. I'm not advocating so much for the 10% as I am for the next 50% that are forced to pay for more than we can afford to support the next 40%. 95% of which abuse the system to one degree or another. I see it every day in the town where I live and I don't think my town is an anomaly. My problem with progressives is they are careless in labeling groups. They take a business like mine and automatically assume that I practice business like huge corporations that do get huge tax breaks. I don't. You talk about the reasons for this disaster, does it even matter what led up to this? Can we go back in time and change it? Both Democrat and Republican were responsible for the bind we currently find ourselves in. What matters is how we attack the problem now and not what caused it. You talk about the similarity of America today and the ruling class in Europe. I have been saying for years that we are on the same road as European countries like Greece. We are just not as far down that road as they are. They practice Socialism and we are trying to practice Socialism. We see what's happened to their countries and we simply ignore it and press forward. America was the only nation that chose a different road than all the other nations in the world and we became, far and away, the most wealthy, powerful, and free nation this world has ever seen. We have left that road and now we are being lowered to the same level as those nations who used to look up to us for the freedom and prosperity we had. Again, it doesn't matter what happened in the past to get us to this point, only what happens from this point on. I do agree with you that I'm not sure we have what it takes to make the tough choices that it will take to climb out of the hole we find ourselves in. We have to stop digging first. Given your last post, I am even more confused as to how you don't see this. You list the problems we are facing and even say we are like the countries who have already tried what we are doing right now then turn around and say that the policies that are completely opposite of what we are doing now are anti-American. You can't have it both ways. It's one or the other.

In the top 50% of the top 90%.

So there is the answer to a question I ask you previously that you choose to side step and not answer.

You consider your self in the upper class I see.

But yet, " forced to pay for more than we can afford ".
