I will be blunt with you sir, the rhetoric you just put forth is nothing less than what you have heard from Rush, Fox News and other extreme right wing pundits.
What you should know is those people make millions off the likes of people like you who buy their crap, and laugh all the way to the bank.
Your ignorance is not making you a dime, lets just hope it doesn't cost you or a love one your life.
What if that love one was your voice because you are in the grave and cannot speak.
Would you call your loved one a "human shield", because they chose to speak out on your behalf?
Wait a minute idiot, for you to know what Rush, Fox news and other extreme right wing pundits say you would have to patronize them. So you watch them or you listen to them right Barney? So you help these people you so despise make millions and become number one in their field correct Barny? So you are no better than the people you rail against correct? If you do not support those right wingers you just mentioned than you know absolutely nothing about what they are saying or what they mean with what they say so this would make you a liar.

Which is it Barney do you patronize the right wing shows you rail against and help make them millions, rich and number one or are you a liar?

What I do realize is how cowards like you , find it so much easier to wage a personal attack against those whose political beliefs differ from your own.
That you find it unfeasible that anyone would think differently.
You find that it is easier, than to defend the actions and principals of your party.
That is what I realize about the right wing Topix participants like you.
Again with more idiocricy spewing forth from that mouth. First off, thank you for proving my point about the vile and absolute lack of knowledge that comes from liberals. Second off, in the last 6 Presidential elections I have voted Republican 4 times, and Democrat twice. Hence the title independent, which is exactly what I am. I am neither right wing nor left wing, I am an American and right down the middle, and I absolutely despise earthworm mentality twits like yourself that try to use insults, racism, and fear mongering to further your liberal fantasy land agendas. You sir, are an idiot...end of story.

Let's put all your other BS to aside for a moment and let me explain something to you.

No matter if it is I, you, Rush or any one else, we all put our pants on one leg at a time, no one of us is any better than the other.

For you to say I think other wise is incorrect,

you are simply depicting your own narrow minded beliefs.

BTW, the rest of that post is ridiculous as well.

Senators, Republican and Democrat should be ashamed of them selves.
A bi-partisan bill with 90% public approval polling.
What the Hell were they thinking?
They were elected by the people not the NRA.
Sens. Manchin and Toomey struck a compromise deal on background checks to cover all gun-show and online sales of firearms (excepting for family transfers). But after that agreement -- and after the two senators thought they had the NRA's tacit agreement not to oppose their amendment -- the gun-rights organization pulled its trigger by releasing a letter opposing the amendment and suggesting it would score the vote. After that NRA opposition, any momentum the Manchin-Toomey amendment had stopped. In fact, a number of red-state Democrats and fence-sitting Republicans later opposed the compromise measure. Further demonstrating the NRA’s power on Wednesday, a pro-gun-rights amendment to enable those with concealed-weapons permit to carry guns across state lines (even in states where that action isn’t legal) garnered more votes (57) than the Manchin-Toomey measure (54). This fact perhaps tells the story of the gun debate better than any other.
Here's a thought. Maybe, just maybe there isn't any correlation between LEGAL gun ownership and gun crimes. And maybe, just maybe there IS a direct correlation between ILLEGAL gun ownership and gun crimes. And maybe, just maybe the NRA knew this and they also probably knew this new law was more about power and the ability of the government to gain more control over our citizens than anything else. Just a thought.

NO it does not have to be, "one or the other", there is copious other outlets, TV, print, and internet quoting those of I which I spoke.

To say you have to watch them to know what they are saying is being very naïve or more likely in your case, just plain stupid.

Maybe the NRA is a lobbying group for gun manufactures.

Jared Lee Loughner and Colorado theater shooter James Holmes and the Jonesboro Ark, school shooters, Lee Harvey Oswald all had legal guns.

Just a thought.

So, you trust second hand liberal interpretations instead of going to the actual source.

Yes, it always comes down to one or the other with you, as you have proven over and over again.

You are either a liar or a sucker.

Liberal liars, like Barney, everywhere are in mourning today. As many as 18 people were killed and about 400 injured between Monday and Wednesday.

No, their not mourning the lose of life, they're mourning because it was not caused by a gun, a tea party member, a republican or a Christian as they were trying to tell us through the media. They're mourning the causalities committed to their false narratives and lies that the truth continues to expose.

So warrior transforms to the guest because he had no where to go with what I said.

A couple of days ago you were quoting me verbatim and that there could be no other interpretation, because the quote was verbatim.

Guess what, Reporters publish verbatim quotes too.

When a reporter quotes one of the attention whores like Rush, to call out his bologna, unfortunately due to lack of comprehension abilities all you hear is "second hand liberal interpretations"

A gun not used is a lie, the bombers shot and killed a police officer last night.

Now what will you produce to prove you are not telling a lie about the rest.

If your past history is any clue, I know the answer already, not a damn thing.

Here is thought for you, no wait, facts for you.

NRA Misrepresents Police Survey, Legislation

On the day the Senate voted down a series of gun control bills, the National Rifle Association made false and misleading claims in opposing a measure to expand background checks.
◾Online ads from the NRA wrongly claimed that “80% of police say background checks will have no effect” on violent crime. The survey cited in the ads by the NRA says nothing of the sort.
◾Before and after the vote, the NRA said the measure “would have criminalized certain private transfers of firearms” and required “lifelong friends, neighbors and some family members to get federal government permission” to exchange guns. The measure didn’t expand background checks to such private transfers. It applied to sales by unlicensed individuals at gun shows and on the Internet.

Message to you people from the corporate puppets of America. You can watch the mostly Republican cowards spit in 90% of America’s faces but calling the out will result in a background check. Don’t you dare believe that the First Amendment applies to you, while sitting in the Tea House or the NRA owned Senate.

It’s okay to invade a woman’s privacy or personal autonomy, but hey, if you want to buy a military assault weapon your privacy matters.

After voting against expanded background checks to buy deadly weapons, our Senate added insulted to Patricia Maisch and Lori Haas, both VICTIMS of guns violence because they uttered 3 words:“Shame on you!”

Maisch and Haas, who said what sane America was thinking at the time, were promptly ushered out of the gallery. After that, they underwent more scrutiny for exercising their First Amendment rights than someone would undergo to buy a gun.

ThinkProgress reports,

As they left the Senate gallery, a police officer approached and asked them to follow him. The three walked downstairs to a public hallway, where they were peppered with questions:“What’s your name?”“Where are you from?”“What are your Social Security numbers?” The officer left to run a background check on the women, who were instructed to sit on a bench. Another uniformed officer watched over them, even escorted Haas to the bathroom and told her she couldn’t lock the stall door.

This is reminiscent of Maria Meecham’s experience in the gallery of the House of Representatives, after two Republican Congressmen from her state high-fived, each other following a vote that denied a minor pay raise for the troops that Republicans like to use as props when professing how much they support our troops.
