I've noticed that one idiot in particular keeps claiming that El Dorados population is increasing and will be back up to 25,000 by the next census. I'm pretty sure this is coming from that lunatic stalker people keep pointing out so I'm not surprised he's wrong about this.

The simple truth is that El Dorados population has decreased since the 2010 census. And unlike that idiot that spouts off "facts" with no basis whatsoever, I have actually provided a link below that backs up my claims. This is from the same official census bureau that does the national census every ten years. They also have yearly census info, in case anyone wants to browse.

I'm not happy about this. I want our town to make a real comeback, but the hard truth is that since 2010 we are continuing the downward population trend. Our population isn't just stagnated either, its actually declining. This is not good news, but I thought I would share the facts instead of just guessing.

This is what happens when you focus on making a dying town "festival central" instead of focusing on real job creation. Our town is withering away by the year.

Again, here is the link so nobody can argue against these statistics without making up something seriously stupid in defense of these numbers...

It's because I successfully sold my chain of feed stores, made several million in total profit and am retiring, along with my family cult, in Russia. Now everyone will be leaving town because we were the only business holding it on the map. El Dorado - Eppinettes = ghost town, ADDY OS!! AMEGOS!!! BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAW!!!!

This is seriously depressing, though not exactly surprising. I really hoped our population would have increased, or at the very least have stayed the same. That site says we've already had over a 2% decrease in two years! Thats horrible. If we continue on this path we will easily be down another 10% by the next census. Can you imagine what that will do to this town? All the restaurants and retail will suffer horribly. It's already bad enough. We have got to bring more industry to this town, but the way our officials are leaning, does anyone really see that happening? If it gets much worse people will flee in droves in order to find jobs. This is just horrible. Horrible!

So much for all that bogus "comeback town" crap. I wonder who paid who to start saying we are coming back from anything. Being hopeful is good, being an unrealistic liar is not.

Nevermind. I stand corrected. It is an estimate illustrated from the past 10 years. The Census bureau doesn't conduct such research ever year, as I previously lied about. My bad.

I don't get how anyone can see El Dorado as a nice place to live. This is a ghetto welfare town, and the demographics prove it. Businesses are always failing. The population is still declining. The education is below the national average. All town officials are pocketed by a handful of local families, which is just a nice way of saying this town is corrupt. The police are corrupt. Drugs abound. Violence is high.

I go to college in Texas in a town the same size as EL Dorado and it is so much nicer. Not only is the town almost all white but there are two real universities there, not just some podunk community college. We have great food, the quality of the service is good. We don't have much crime and we don't have to deal with thugass iggaboogas dumping on everything in town. Also, major shopping is only thirty minutes away. We don't have to drive an hour and a half to get decent shopping like people here do. And we don't have to order every dang thing we need off the Internet, we can just go get it. We also have two large lakes that are actually clean enough to eat the fish from, and a couple of nice man made beaches. There are bike trails everywhere too. Compare that to Calions trashy sandbar and the fact that you can barely eat the fish from there because the water is so polluted, and I say its much, much better. It's nice not having to drive an hour to get to clean water.

I understand how some people could tolerate this place. I know I did growing up here, but I had no idea just how bad it was until I realized there are places so much better. But to promote this town like it is something special? That is insane. I mean totally and completely insane. I think you would have to have about 20 I.Q Points to not realize what this place is compared to other, better small towns.

And please, spare me that " you must be miserable if you don't like it here" crap. I love my life, my church, my friends, but I do not love this town. My parents and old school friends are the only reason I come here, and I'm not miserable being here temporarily. Ive learned to deal and not expect much. But I'm not freaking blind either. It's obvious to outsiders what this town is. And it's obvious to a lot of people that used to live here too, or apparantly more than 10% of them wouldnt have fled this place like it had plague.

Some of us just want more than El Dorado has to offer. I think we've got a pretty good thing going here but I understand that its just not enough for some. It's unrealistic to claim that El Dorado has anything anyone could want. It's unrealistic to claim that of any town anywhere, really. The only things I would change are the race demographics and the weather. I must admit, it would be nice to experience those things people north of us call "seasons". Lol! Glad we don't get months of snow but dang it would be nice to have more than just a few weeks a year of something other than hot as hell. Other than that weve got it pretty good. Our family goes fishing and hunting all the time. And we actually like driving to Monroe or Little Rock to shop and stuff. It gives us something to do on certain weekends. Nobody anywhere wants to sit in their hometown day in and out without travelling. I think our town offers as much, and more, than anyone could expect for a town our size. Yeah it will be bad if the population continues to decline but we will still make the best of it. One thing I think we should do is work on expanding the SAAC into a real four yr college. That would bring more young people in and create more affordable housing.

El Do has been in decline for years, city hall doesn't get it and has been spending money like they are still on top. It's time the city spends money on the water system and on condemning more run down houses. Crime is out of control in the city, can you blame the people who are leaving.

There was an article in the paper about the city doing just that.

This is soon to change. Some business have already started charging sales taxes. Especially if they business locations within that state.

Especially if they are actually located in that state. And this won't take place until November 2014 (slowass gov policies to increase the wealth of their lobbyist friends). So, he lack of sales tax charges and fuel costs is the reason why people buy online.

ElDorado has no jobs, and no Industry here!!! What do you expect??? Taxed to death around here as well!!! This answers the question about the high crime rate here!!! ElDorado Promise is a JOKE!!! If they buy a house here, they going to tax the owners to death, and they going to spend the price of a college education commuting to and from another city, or state for employment, while supporting this end, paying these HIGH A** TAXES for a city that dont support them!!! Do the arithmetic theres not a damn thing free about the ElDorado Promise!! Dont take a rocket scientist to figure that out either!!!
