This came from the Chamber this morning:

School is back in session, and at the Chamber that means one thing: It's time to start planning the El Dorado Christmas Parade! This year's parade will be held the evening of Thursday, December 6, and will run the traditional route from the corner of 18th St. and North West Ave. all the way to downtown El Dorado.

This year's theme is up to you! Please send us any ideas you have for a Christmas parade theme to [email protected]; we'll compile a list of the best submissions and then ask you to select the winner.

The Christmas parade is the Chamber's most manpower-intensive event of the year. If you or anyone you know are interested in helping out, please let me know. We'll hold our first planning meeting soon, and would love to see you there!

Who started such a dumb rumor? The parades been here every year for as long as I can remember so why would they stop it now? This is festival town now so they do all the events they can.

The contract between the hospital and Blue Cross/Blue Shield will be terminated on Sept. 1st. Blue Cross was the major donator to fund the parade. There is not enough funding for the parade so it had to be cancelled.

No, they were not, dumbass. Blue Cross has never been a Christmas Parade donor. We all told your stupidass it was not cancelled.

Just got my letter in the mail from BC/BS saying they will no longer take claims from the medical center, now, on top of this, they are responsible for the Christmas parade being cancelled. Way to go Eldo.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield doesn't have anything to do with the parade. FYI, it has never been cancelled. It will be held December 6.

No you didn't, because you're the same fork that's been lying about the parade. It has never been cancelled.

Not cancelled, however, bar-j will replace the clydesdales because of less funding.

Have we gone national on Topix? Is this going to be one of those multi-thousand post issues such as birds falling from the sky?
